〔小儿初生〕 宜以甘草浓汤。用软帛蘸汁拭口中。去其秽浊。随用胡桃肉去皮捣取汁
饮之。非独和中。且能养脏。 如母气素寒。又值冷天。只以淡姜汤拭口。可免吐泻之患。
拭后仍用胡桃汁饮之。
〔浴儿〕 用槐、榆、桃、桑、柳枝。各三五寸煎汤。临浴加入猪胆汁一二个。浴之周
岁内可免疮疥丹毒。又避邪恶。
〔多啼〕 初生二三日内多啼。即看口中上颚。如有白泡子。即以银针轻轻挑破。将白
泡内如米粒取出。勿令入喉。以金墨涂之。 或因胎毒未尽。多啼不乳。用淡豆豉浓煎汁。
常与三五匙。其毒自下。又能助养脾气消乳。
〔二便不通〕 急令人以热汤漱口。吸吮小儿前后两心。两手足心脐下。共七处。吮到
红色即通。 六七日内小便不通。用葱白一寸捣烂。入人乳拌匀二次。入儿口内。再与乳吮
咽下即通。
〔初生谷道不通〕 金银器或玉簪烧热穿通。
〔初生周身无皮〕 速取白 米粉遍身扑之。一日三次。以皮遍为度。遍身如鱼鳔。或
如水晶。擦破则水渗流。即用密陀僧研极细末炒燥。出火毒。糁上即效。
〔生下即死〕 可看上颚有泡。急须挑破。（以绵拭去血。勿令血入喉即活。）
〔不乳〕 初生面赤眼闭不开。大便不通。不能进乳。多由胎中热毒所致。用粪清数匙
饮之立解。即能吃乳。 开口后不乳。用葱白一寸破开。以人乳同入砂罐内煎过。饮之即乳。
即口噤者亦效。 如因受风。鼻塞不能吮乳。用天南星为末。以生姜自然汁调成膏。敷贴于
囟门。（勿轻用发散药。）
〔小儿口噤〕 猪乳滴入口中即开。（此法最良。须令小猪吮吃。时将小猪后脚提起。
其口即开。取之可得。） 面赤多啼。口噤不乳。天南星一个。炮去皮脐。冰片三厘。同研
细。将指蘸姜汁
〔脐中汁出〕 或赤肿。或出血。用白石脂研极细末。一日三次敷之。 如久不干。用
当归炒研末。去火气。频敷即效。 多年墙上白螺蛳壳。火 研细。糁上即效。
〔脐突光肿〕 赤小豆。豆豉。天南星。（火炮）白蔹各等分研细末。每用五分。以芭
蕉
自然汁调敷脐四旁。一日一次。三次后得小便下白物即消。
〔马牙〕 初生口唇牙龈生白点。不能食乳。亦胎热所致。鹅口不同。少缓即不能救。
急用银针将白点挑破出血。凶则连日。缓则间日挑之。挑后仍用青绢绞出涎。以好墨薄荷汤
遍搽满口。勿令食乳。待睡片时醒。方与乳。无不立效。
〔阴囊收缩〕 初生六七日阴囊入腹。啼哭不止者。每因受寒所致。硫黄。（二钱）吴
茱
萸。（三钱）为细末。研。大蒜调涂脐下。再以蛇床子微炒。帛包熨其囊即下。
〔月内多啼〕 真西黄。朱砂。（各五厘）同研细。用少许点舌上。
〔脐风〕 断脐带之后。为水湿风冷所乘。或胎中受热所致。肚胀脐肿。四肢强直为脐
风。用独蒜切片安脐上。以绿豆大艾圆灸三壮。口中有蒜气即效。 七日之内。若有脐风。
肚腹上必发青筋一道。寻照青筋行至处灸三壮。如分两坌。即灸两尽头可救。已行至心。则
不治。 全蝎。（五个酒洗炙脆）僵蚕。（七条白而直者炙脆）麝香。（二三厘）俱研细。每
服一
分。用薄荷。灯心。加金器一件。煎汤调服。并治撮口。
〔撮口〕 或因胎中受热。或因脐风不愈。面赤喘急。啼声不出。名曰撮口。看牙龈上
有小泡子如粟米大。急以温水蘸净。绢裹手指轻轻擦破即开口。或灸小儿头上三五壮即愈。 照
治脐风药服一二分即效。 犀角羚羊角。水磨。和蜜饮之亦效。 如大便不通热甚者。制大
黄。甘草各五分。水煎服。 脐旁及爪甲青黑者不治。
〔鹅口〕 满口白烂。用枯矾一钱。朱砂二分共为末。每以少许敷之。三次即效。 人
中白为末。拭口内即效。
〔口中白点〕 百日内口中白点。拭之则去。少刻复有。口内流涎。啼哭不乳。黄丹研
极细。用竹沥调涂口中。日洗三次即去。内服益元散。灯心汤。调下。则不再发。（方见暑
症。）
〔乳伤〕 大麦芽煎汤服之。如恶吐者。加陈皮五分同煎服。
〔竹衣垂〕 因胎中遗毒。周身脓血淋漓。疮形如赤剥杨梅状。上白芦甘石。（火 淬。
入黄连汁三次。童便内四次一两。）黄柏。（猪胆涂炙七次七钱）紫甘蔗皮。（烧灰存性五钱）
儿茶。（五钱）真绿豆粉。（炒七钱）冰片。（五分）赤石脂。（ 五钱）俱为细末。用鸡蛋二
个煮熟去白。将黄煎出油去渣。和麻油调末药搽患处。 内服丸方。真西黄。（三分）朱砂。

〔赤游风〕 啼叫惊搐。次生红肿光亮。发热。瞬息游走。发无定处。先起于腹背。流
入四肢者易治。若起于四肢。流入胸腹者难治。先用生姜汁。葱汁。加食盐。（炒）煎水。

汁洗疮。洗时勿令水入目。恐伤目。 长流水一碗。锻石一块。入水化开。取水面上如浮油
者。涂肿处即消。 朴硝。大黄等分为末。井水调敷。 如寒凉药涂之不效。用灶心土研极
细末。以煮熟鸡蛋黄入锅熬出油调涂。 马齿苋捣汁调银朱涂之即效。干则以汁润之。 内
服连翘。荆芥。木通。当归。赤芍。防风。滑石。蝉蜕。（各八分）黄芩。甘草。（各五分）

煎服。 游风肿痛。用破草鞋。人乱发。烧灰。米醋调敷。 如平常红肿。以青菜捣汁涂之
即消。亦可服之。
〔慢惊风〕 多因久病之后。或因吐泻之后。损伤脾胃所致。则四肢冷。手足微动。眼
上视。面青唇白。或乍发乍静。或身凉身热。二便利。其脉迟缓。治法当培养元气。即有风
痰。不得过行消散。致伤元气为主。 病后脾胃虚弱。致成慢惊。四肢渐冷。虚肿面有浮气
者。人参。茯苓。扁豆。（炒）陈米。（炒各一钱）木香。全蝎。（酒洗炙脆）天麻。（各五分）
匀
两剂。姜枣水煎服。 如尚有阳症咳嗽喘急。胸膈煽动。痰涎壅塞之状。仍须全蝎。（酒
洗炙脆）乌梢蛇。（酒浸去骨瓦上焙燥各五分）天竺黄。朱砂。（另研各二分半）白附子。（炮）
天麻。青黛。（另研各一钱）麝香。（一分）俱为细末。蜜调为膏。贮瓷器内。以蜡封口。大

〔囟门肿〕 因热上冲而肿者。高而柔软。用黄柏末水调涂足心。 因寒而肿者。则坚
硬。宜温散之。
〔囟门陷〕 水调半夏末涂足心。 因病久气虚而陷者。用狗头骨炙黄为末。鸡子清调
敷。
〔小儿赤眼〕 黄连为末。水调敷足心。
〔头上肥疮〕 嫩松香绵纸包作纸燃。入香油内浸一宿。灯上点烧。滴下油敷之。 皂
荚烧灰。香油调敷。三次即效。
〔头上痒疮〕 地沥青。（二两）入紫草。川椒。明矾。蒸透。乘热搽之。轻者白果仁擦
之。

〔腊梨头方〕 锻石窑内烧过土墼。（四两）百草霜。（一两）雄黄。（一两）胆矾。（六
钱）
榆皮。（三钱）轻粉。（一钱）共为末。猪胆汁调匀。剃头后搽之。百发百中之妙。 宰猪汤

面上浮腻。入砂罐内。再加葱头。（五个）明矾。花椒。（各五钱）同煎。乘热洗二三次即愈。
〔小儿重舌〕 舌尖叠浓为重舌。用巴豆半粒。饭五粒。共捣为饼。如黄豆大。贴眉心
中间。待四围起泡即去之。 或黄柏用竹沥浸一宿。点舌上即效。
〔木舌〕 舌下生薄膜如连舌尖。绊住不能吮乳。治法。用针横刺舌下总筋之外膜中。
（勿穿总筋之内。） 直勒至舌尖上断此膜。舌即能伸。（勿治。大不能言。）刺后出血。用

杖拭去耳中脓。吹入药末少许。如不效。加海螵蛸一钱炙研同吹。 脓汁久不愈。用山羊角
烧存性为末。每吹二三分入内。一日三次即效。
〔耳后项间湿烂〕 五倍子研极细末糁上即效。 如体肥耳后腋下阴囊湿痒者用海螵蛸
研末。（炒微黄。）敷之甚妙。
〔月蚀疮〕 生于耳后。用黄连。（切片。焙研末。）敷之。
〔羊须疮〕 生于口下。用小红枣烧灰存性。香油调涂。
〔 头软疖〕 大枳壳一个泡软。去穣磨口平。以面糊合在疖上一周时。脓血自出。 古
瓷器碗片研极细。菜油调涂。并治痘毒久烂。
〔燕窝疮〕 用鼠屎研末。香油调敷。
〔小儿歪嘴〕 蓖麻子。（七粒去壳）麝香。（少许）共捣成一团。安于手心。内用滚水
半碗。将碗足坐在手心药上。左歪放右手。右歪放左手。久久行之正即止。
〔两目夜不见物〕 羯羊肝一具。（勿见水。勿犯铁器。）以竹刀划开。入谷精草末。瓦
罐内水煮熟。不时服之屡验。
〔鸡朦眼〕 夜合草燥干为末。蘸猪肝常食之即效。 鸡蛋开一小孔。入雄黄一钱。煮
熟食之。多吃即效。
〔误将竹木刺入眼内〕 白颈蚯蚓捏断。滴血入眼即出。
〔小儿咳嗽〕 生姜四两。煎浓汤沐浴即愈。
〔小儿癣疥〕 本煎汤沐浴。并浣衣即效。或用地沥青敷之。
〔肛门作痒〕 杏仁嚼烂敷之即止。 生艾叶同川楝根煎汤熏洗即止。 如阴亏燥痒。
兼服六味丸易效。
〔蛔虫〕 因失乳而早哺。或食甜过多。胃虚虫动。以致腹痛恶心。口吐清水。腹上有
青筋。火煨史君子与食。以壳煎汤送下。宜每月初四五五更时服之验。
〔小儿吐〕 砂仁。（童便拌炒三四次为末一两） 加丁香。藿香。（各三钱）俱研细。
每服一茶匙姜汤下。 如百日内吐乳。（直出而不停为之 乳）用麦芽。（三钱）橘红。（一
钱）丁香。
〔呕吐〕 吐时酸逆而难出者为热。用和中清热饮。黄连。（姜汁炒一钱）姜半夏。（一
钱）陈皮。藿香。砂仁。（各七分）茯苓。（一钱半）分两服。水煎徐饮。 如吐时顺而直出。
或吐清水者。为寒。用温中止吐汤。白豆蔻。茯苓。（各一钱）半夏。（五分）加生姜五片。
分两服。水煎热服不效。加沉香二分。为末和入。
〔泄泻〕 干山药半生半炒为末。每服二钱。砂糖水调服即愈。 或巴豆研末为膏。贴
顶门上。烧线香一炷。未尽即去巴豆。立愈。 伤乳腹泄。仍用人乳一碗。铜锅内煎成红色
焦皮。研细频吃即止。
〔久泻不止〕 白术。（土炒）白茯苓（各二钱）黄米一合煮粥。只服米饮。泻自止。
〔痢疾〕 鸡肫皮。（焙炒研末。）以乳汁调服。 鸡蛋一个煮二三沸。取起去白用黄。
研碎。以生姜汁半小钟和匀服之。不宜吃茶。俱神效。 木香。（二钱）生黄连。（五分）肉
豆蔻。（一个）俱为末。以鸡子清和作饼。慢火炙黄色转红为度。研细末。用白面糊为丸。
麻子大。每服三五十丸。米饮下即效。
〔血痢黑痢〕 茅草花一把水煎服。无花以根代之。
〔泻痢〕 土木鳖半个。母丁香四粒。麝香一分研末。津唾调丸如芡实大。纳一丸于脐
中。
〔泻痢肚痛〕 砂仁。川椒。（各五分）炒研。和姜汁少许。津唾为丸。纳入脐内。外
以膏药贴之。
〔休息痢及疳泻久不愈者〕 鸡蛋一个。先用黄蜡如指大一块。锅内熔化。入鸡蛋拌炒
熟。空心食之大效。
〔噤口痢〕 莲子内心五分研末。陈米饮调下。毒瓦斯上冲心肺者。用此以通心气。则思
食。 如胃口毒瓦斯所阻。不能进食。用精猪肉一两。扯薄片。于炭火上慢炙时。随用腻粉少
许糁肉上。令匀成脯。每以少许放小儿鼻边。自然吃下。
〔久疟〕 不拘寒热。用桃叶尖。（取东南方者四十九片）半夏。（四十九粒）俱为末捣
桃
尖为丸。雄黄为衣。晒干贮瓶中封固。临用取一丸绵裹塞鼻中。男左女右。即止。端午日合
更验。
〔痰核〕 公鲫鱼一尾。竹刀去肠。用酒洗净。入红花少许。蒸食六七次即消。
〔痞块〕 肚大肌瘦面黄。渐成疳疾。白芙蓉花阴干为末。用鸡肝破开。入花末在内。
饭上蒸熟食之。 至重者。用木鳖子肉。史君子肉。（各五钱）共为细末。水丸圆眼大。每
一丸以鸡蛋一个破顶。入药调匀。饭上蒸熟食之。
〔好吃生米茶炭黄病〕 麦芽。（一斤炒）史君子。（二两）槟榔。（一两）南星。（一两姜
汁炒）为末。如吃茶加茶八两。（吃泥加泥。吃炭加炭。只用八两。）炼蜜丸。桐子大。每服
五十丸。（每日早晨空心砂糖汤下。如初起多服肥儿丸即效。方见后。）
〔睡中遗尿〕 鸡肫皮。（二个）鸡肠。（一具焙燥烧灰）猪脬。（一个炙焦）俱为末。
每服
二钱。酒调下。男用雌。女用雄。三四次愈。 白纸一张铺席下。不令人知。待遗尿于上。
取纸晒烧酒服。 用红纸剪马四匹。令小儿自安身下。每夜如之。
〔小便频多〕 乌药。益志仁。（去壳盐水炒）桑螵蛸。等分。为末。酒煮山药糊为丸。
空心盐汤下二钱。

[Newborn Care] It is advisable to use a strong decoction of Licorice Root (Gancao). Dip soft cloth into the juice and wipe the infant's mouth to remove filth and turbidity. Subsequently, administer the juice extracted from peeled walnuts crushed into paste. This not only harmonizes the middle jiao but also nourishes the zang organs. If the mother has a constitution prone to cold, or if it happens to be a cold season, wiping the mouth with a mild ginger soup is sufficient to prevent vomiting and diarrhea. After wiping, walnut juice should still be administered.
[Bathing the Infant] Use branches of Sophora (Huai), Elm (Yu), Peach (Tao), Mulberry (Sang), and Willow (Liu), each three to five cun long, boiled into a decoction. Add one or two pig gallbladders to the water when bathing. Bathing the infant in this manner within the first year can prevent sores, scabies, and erysipelas, while also warding off evil influences.
[Frequent Crying] Infants crying frequently within two or three days after birth should have their upper palate examined. If white blisters are present, gently puncture them with a silver needle, remove the rice-grain-like substance inside, ensuring it does not enter the throat. Apply gold ink to the area. Frequent crying and refusal to suckle may also be due to unresolved fetal toxins. Administer a strong decoction of Fermented Soybean (Douchi) in small doses (three to five spoons) regularly; this helps drain the toxin downwards and supports spleen qi to aid digestion of milk.
[Constipation of Urine and Feces] Urgently have someone rinse their mouth with hot water, then suction the following seven areas on the infant: the anterior and posterior chest centers, both palm centers, both sole centers, and below the umbilicus. Suction until the skin turns red, which will promote the passage of urine and feces. For infants aged six to seven days who cannot urinate, crush one cun of Scallion White (Congbai), mix it with human milk twice, place it in the infant's mouth, and allow the infant to suck and swallow it to restore urination.
[Imperforate Anus at Birth] Heat a gold/silver utensil or a jade hairpin and use it to perforate the anus.
[Agenesis of Skin at Birth] Quickly dust the entire body with rice flour, three times a day, until skin forms. If the body resembles a fish bladder or crystal and leaks fluid upon rupture, immediately apply extremely fine powder of Lead Monoxide (Mituo seng) that has been fried to remove its "fire toxicity." Sprinkle this powder on the affected area for immediate effect.
[Stillbirth/Death at Birth] Check the upper palate for blisters and puncture them urgently. (Wipe away blood with cotton; do not let blood enter the throat, and the infant may revive.)
[Refusal to Suckle] A red face, closed eyes, constipation, and inability to feed are often caused by heat toxins in the womb. Administer several spoons of clear urine supernatant (Fenqing) to resolve symptoms immediately, allowing feeding. If the infant opens the mouth but still refuses milk, split one cun of Scallion White, boil it with human milk in a clay pot, and administer it to induce suckling. This is also effective for trismus (lockjaw). If wind-cold causes nasal congestion preventing suckling, apply a paste made of Pinellia Rhizome (Tiannanxing) powder and fresh ginger juice to the fontanelle. (Avoid using dispersing herbs lightly.)
[Infant Trismus] Drip pig milk into the mouth to open it. (This method is excellent; obtain milk by letting a young sow suckle, lifting its hind legs occasionally to stimulate flow.) For a red face, frequent crying, trismus, and refusal to suckle, process one Pinellia Rhizome (Tiannanxing) by firing and removing skin/navel, add three li of Borneol (Bingpian), grind finely. Dip a finger in ginger juice... [Text cuts off, likely implies application].
[Oozing Umbilicus] If red/swollen or bleeding, apply extremely fine powder of Kaolin (Baishizhi) three times daily. If it remains wet for a long time, apply fried Angelica Sinensis (Danggui) powder, free of fire toxicity, frequently for effect. Powdered shells of white snails from old walls, calcined and ground fine, sprinkled on the site, are also effective.
[Umbilical Hernia/Swelling] Equal parts of Adzuki Bean (Chixiaodou), Fermented Soybean (Douchi), Fire-processed Pinellia Rhizome (Tiannanxing), and Peucedanum Rhizome (Bailian) are ground fine. Use 5 fen per application, mixed with natural juice of Banana Stem (Bajiao) to apply around the umbilicus once daily. After three applications, if white discharge passes via urine, the swelling subsides.
[Horse Teeth] White spots appearing on the lips and gums of newborns, preventing feeding, are caused by fetal heat. This differs from thrush and requires urgent treatment. Puncture the white spots with a silver needle to bleed. For severe cases, puncture daily; for mild cases, every other day. After puncturing, wring out saliva with green silk, and coat the entire mouth with good ink and mint decoction. Withhold milk until the infant sleeps briefly, then resume feeding. This is invariably effective.
[Retracted Scrotum] In infants aged six to seven days, if the scrotum retracts into the abdomen causing incessant crying, it is often due to cold invasion. Mix Sulfur (2 qian) and Evodia Fruit (Wuzhuyu, 3 qian) into fine powder, blend with garlic, and apply below the umbilicus. Then, lightly stir-fry Cnidium Fruit (Shechuangzi), wrap in cloth, and apply warm compresses to the scrotum to bring it down.
[Frequent Crying in the First Month] Mix real Musk Deer Gallstone (Xihuang/Niuhuang) and Cinnabar (Zhusha, 5 li each) finely. Apply a small amount to the tongue.
[Neonatal Tetanus] Caused by water-dampness, wind, and cold attacking the cut umbilical stump, or fetal heat. Symptoms include abdominal distension, umbilical swelling, and limb rigidity. Place a slice of single-clove garlic on the umbilicus and moxibustion with mugwort cones the size of mung beans for three treatments. Effect is indicated by a garlic smell in the mouth. Within seven days, if neonatal tetanus occurs, a blue vein will appear on the abdomen. Moxibustion should be applied along the path of this vein for three treatments. If the vein splits, treat both ends to save the life. If it reaches the heart, it is incurable. Process Scorpion (Quanxie, 5 pieces, wine-washed and fried crisp), Stiff Silkworm (Jiangcan, 7 pieces, white and straight, fried crisp), and Musk (Shexiang, 2-3 li), grind fine. Take 1 fen per dose, mixed with Mint (Bohe) and Juncus Effusus (Dengxin) decoction with a gold object, taken orally. Also treats jaw-locking.
[Jaw-Locking (Cuekou)] Caused by fetal heat or unresolved neonatal tetanus. Symptoms include red face, rapid breathing, and silent crying. Examine the gums for millet-sized blisters. Cleanse with warm water, wrap fingers in silk, and gently rub the blisters to open the mouth. Alternatively, apply three to five moxa cones on the head. Administer medicine for neonatal tetanus (1-2 fen) for effect. Ground Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) and Antelope Horn (Lingyangjiao), mixed with honey and drunk, are also effective. For severe constipation and heat, use Prepared Rhubarb (Zhidahuang) and Licorice Root (Gancao, 5 fen each), decocted in water. Cyanosis around the umbilicus and nails indicates an incurable condition.
[Thrush] White erosion covering the mouth. Use 1 qian of Burnt Alum (Kufan) and 2 fen of Cinnabar (Zhusha), ground together. Apply a small amount to the affected area three times for effect. Powdered Human Placenta (Renzhongbai) wiped inside the mouth is also effective.
[White Spots in Mouth] White spots appearing within 100 days that reappear quickly after wiping, accompanied by salivation, crying, and refusal to feed. Grind Minium (Huangdan) extremely fine, mix with Bamboo Sap (Zhuli), and apply to the mouth. Wash the mouth three times daily to remove them. Internally, administer Yi Yuan San, taken with Juncus Decoction, to prevent recurrence. (Formula see Summerheat chapter.)
[Milk Injury] Drink a decoction of Barley Sprout (Dayamai). If vomiting is present, add 5 fen of Tangerine Peel (Chenpi) and decoct together.
[Bamboo Coat Drooping] Caused by residual fetal toxins, resulting in oozing pus and blood over the body, resembling peeled bayberries. Ingredients: Calamine (Lu Ganshi, 1 qian, processed with黄连 juice and child's urine), Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai, 7 qian, roasted with pig bile), Purple Sugarcane Peel (ash, 5 qian), Child's Tea (Ercha, 5 qian), Fried Mung Bean Flour (7 qian), Borneol (5 fen), and Red Kaolin (Chishizhi, 5 fen). Grind all to fine powder. Boil two eggs, remove whites, render oil from yolks, filter, and mix with sesame oil and the powder to apply to lesions. Internal pills: Real Musk Deer Gallstone (3 fen), Cinnabar, and Realgar (each 3 fen). Cure within one month.
[Red Roaming Wind] Crying, convulsions, followed by red, swollen, shiny rashes that move rapidly without fixed location. Starting on the back/abdomen and moving to limbs is easier to treat; starting on limbs and moving to chest/abdomen is difficult. First, wash the rash with a decoction of Ginger Juice, Scallion Juice, and fried salt. Avoid getting water in the eyes. Apply the oily layer from a mixture of running water and Calcined Alum (Duanshi) to reduce swelling. Apply a paste of Mirabilite (Puxiao) and Rhubarh (Dahuang) equal parts mixed well water. Internally, decoct Forsythia (Lianqiao), Schizonepeta (Jingjie), Akebia (Mutong), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui), Red Peony Root (Chishao), Saposhnikovia (Fangfeng), Talc (Huashi), Cicada Slough (Chantui, each 8 fen), Scutellaria (Huangqin), and Licorice Root (Gancao, each 5 fen). For painful swelling, apply ash of worn straw sandals and human hair mixed with rice vinegar. For general redness/swelling, apply crushed green vegetable juice or take internally.
[Slow Convulsion] Often caused by damage to spleen/stomach after prolonged illness or vomiting/diarrhea. Symptoms: cold limbs, slight hand/foot movement, upward gaze, blue face, white lips, intermittent发作, alternating cool/warm body, normal bowel/bladder, slow pulse. Treatment focuses on nurturing primordial qi; avoid excessive dispersal of wind-phlegm to prevent further qi damage. For spleen deficiency with cold limbs, edema, and puffy face, use Ginseng (Renshen), Poria (Fuling), Dolichos Seed (Bidou, fried), Fried Rice (Chengmi, fried, 1 qian each), Aucklandia (Muxiang), Scorpion (Quanxie, wine-processed), and Gastrodia (Tianma, 5 fen each). Divide into two doses, decoct with Ginger and Jujube. If Yang symptoms persist (cough, wheezing, chest agitation, phlegm obstruction), use Scorpion (Quanxie), Zaocys Snake (Wushaoshe, wine-soaked and dried), Himalayan Beechwood Resin (Tianzhuhuang), Cinnabar (Zhusha), Typhonium Rhizome (Baifuzi, fired), Gastrodia (Tianma), Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai), and Musk (Shexiang). Grind fine, make pill with honey, seal in porcelain. Older children take 1 fen, infants 5-6 li, with Mint decoction. Also treats fast convulsion.
[Swollen Fontanelle] Swelling due to rising heat is high and soft; apply Phellodendrum Powder (Huangbai) mixed with water to the soles. Swelling due to cold is hard; treat with warming dispersal.
[Depressed Fontanelle] Apply Pinellia Powder (Banxia) mixed with water to the soles. For depression due to chronic qi deficiency, apply powdered roasted Dog Skull Bone (Goutougu) mixed with egg white.
[Infant Red Eyes] Apply Powdered Coptis Rhizome (Huanglian) mixed with water to the soles.
[Scalp Impetigo/Fatty Sores] Wrap tender rosin in cotton paper, soak in sesame oil overnight, burn over lamp, and collect dripping oil for application. Ash of Soap Pod (Zaojia) mixed with sesame oil is also effective after three applications.
[Scaly Scalp Sores] Mix Asphalt (Diqingli, 2 liang) with Pericarpium Notopodium (Zicao), Sichuan Pepper (Chuanjiao), and Alum (Mingfan), steam thoroughly, and apply while hot. For mild cases, rub with Ginkgo Kernel (Baiguoren).
[Lap Pear Head Formula] Use earth bricks burned in alum kilns (4 liang), Roof Dust (Baicaoshuang, 1 liang), Realgar (Xionghuang, 1 liang), Chalcanthite (Danfan, 6 qian), Elm Bark (Yupi, 3 qian), and Calomel (Qingfen, 1 qian). Grind fine, mix with pig bile, apply after shaving head. Highly effective. Also, skim fat from pork boiling water, add Scallion Roots (5), Alum, and Sichuan Pepper (each 5 qian), decoct, and wash head while hot 2-3 times.
[Double Tongue] Thickening of the tongue tip is double tongue. Paste half a Castor Seed (Badou) and five grains of rice into a bean-sized cake, apply to the center of the glabella. Remove when blisters form around. Alternatively, soak Phellodendron (Huangbai) in Bamboo Sap overnight and drip on tongue.
[Wooden Tongue] A membrane under the tongue connects to the tip, preventing suckling. Puncture the outer membrane of the main tendon under the tongue horizontally with a needle (do not pierce the tendon itself), pull up to the tip to sever the membrane, allowing tongue extension. [Purulent Otitis Media] Grind Burnt Alum (Kufan), Calcined Dragon Bone (Longgu), Carmine (Yanzhi, 1 qian each), and a little Musk (Shexiang) to fine powder. Wipe ear pus with cotton swab, blow powder into ear. If ineffective, add Calcined Cuttlebone (Haipiaoxiao, 1 qian). For chronic suppuration, use Calcined Goat Horn powder, blow 2-3 fen into ear three times daily.
[Eczema behind Ears/Neck] Sprinkle extremely fine Powdered Chinese Gall (Wubeizi) for effect. For obese individuals with damp/itchy ears, axillae, or scrotum, apply fried Cuttlebone powder.
[Ear Erosion] Occurs behind ears. Apply Powdered Coptis (Huanglian, sliced, roasted, ground).
[Goat Beard Herpes] Occurs below mouth. Apply ash of small red dates mixed with sesame oil.
[Soft Head Boil] Soak one large Aurantium (Zhike) until soft, remove pulp, flatten surface. Apply with wheat paste to boil for one week; pus/blood will drain. Alternatively, apply ancient porcelain shard powder mixed with vegetable oil. Also treats persistent acne scars.
[Swallow Nest Sore] Apply ash of rat droppings mixed with sesame oil.
[Infant Facial Deviation] Crush seven shelled Castor Seeds (Bimazi) with a little Musk (Shexiang) into a ball. Place on palm, sit a bowl of boiling water on the herb-covered palm. If face deviates left, place right hand; if right, place left hand. Repeat until corrected.
[Night Blindness] One castrated sheep liver (avoid water/iron), slit with bamboo knife, fill with Eyebright Powder (Gu Jingcao), boil in water in clay pot. Consume periodically.
[Chicken Eye Vision] Dry and powder Night-flowering Catchfly (Yehecao), dip in pig liver and eat regularly. Alternatively, crack an egg, insert 1 qian Realgar (Xionghuang), boil and eat. More is better.

[Infant Cough] Bathe in strong decoction of 4 liang Ginger (Shengjiang).
[Infant Ringworm/Scabies] Bathe and wash clothes in decoction of Ben Cao (likely specific local herb). Alternatively, apply asphalt.
[Anal Itching] Chew and apply Apricot Kernel (Xingren). Alternatively, fumigate and wash with Mugwort (Aiye) and Toosendan Root (Chuancangen). For dryness due to yin deficiency, combine with Liu Wei Wan.
[Roundworms] Caused by early weaning or excessive sweet food, leading to stomach deficiency and worm activity. Symptoms: abdominal pain, nausea, clear water vomiting, blue veins on abdomen. Feed fire-roasted Quisqualis Seed (Shi Junzi), washed down with shell decoction. Best taken at dawn on the 4th or 5th of the lunar month.
[Infant Vomiting] Powdered Amomum Fructus (Sharen, 1 liang, processed with urine), plus Clove (Dingxiang) and Agastache (Huoxiang, 3 qian each). Grind fine. Take one tea spoon with ginger soup. Decoct, drink slowly. Straight, clear vomiting indicates cold; use Wenzhong Zhi Ou Tang. White Cardamom (Baidoukou), Poria (Fuling, 1 qian each), Pinellia (Banxia, 5 fen), add 5 slices Ginger. Decoct, drink hot. If ineffective, add Agarwood (Chenxiang, 2 fen) powder.
[Diarrhea] Powder of dried Yam (Shanyao, half raw/half fried), 2 qian per dose, mixed with brown sugar water. Alternatively, apply Castor Oil Cake (Badou) paste to vertex; remove after burning incense. For milk-induced diarrhea, fry human milk in copper pot until red crust forms, grind, and feed frequently.
[Chronic Diarrhea] Earth-fried Atractylodes (Baizhu) and Poria (Baifuling, 2 qian each), cooked with Millet (Huangmi) into porridge. Drink only the rice water.
[Dysentery] Powdered Chicken Gizzard Lining (Jizhupi), mixed with milk. Alternatively, boil one egg, separate yolk, mash, mix with ginger juice, consume (avoid tea). Highly effective. Another formula: Aromatic Tuber (Muxiang, 2 qian), Raw Coptis (Huanglian, 5 fen), Nutmeg (Roudoukou, 1 piece). Make pill with egg white, roast until red-brown, grind, bind with wheat paste into mustard-seed sized pills. Take 30-50 pills with rice water.
[Bloody/Dark Dysentery] Decoct a handful of Rush Flower (Maocaohua); use roots if flowers unavailable.
[Diarrhea/Dysentery] Half of Elaeocarpus Sphaericus (Tumu bie), four Mother Cloves (Mu Dingxiang), 1 fen Musk (Shexiang). Grind, mix with saliva into pellet size of Euryale Seed. Insert one pellet into umbilicus.
[Abdominal Pain with Diarrhea] Amomum (Sharen) and Sichuan Pepper (Chuanjiao, 5 fen each), fried and ground, mixed with ginger juice and saliva into pills. Insert into umbilicus, cover with plaster.
[Intermittent Dysentery and Chronic Malnutrition Diarrhea] Melt wax (size of finger) in pot, stir-fry one egg in it. Eat on empty stomach.
[Anorexic Dysentery] Powdered Lotus Plumule (Lianzixin, 5 fen), taken with aged rice water. If toxic heat attacks heart/lungs, this clears heart qi and restores appetite. If throat blocked by toxin, roast lean pork thinly over charcoal, sprinkle with Calomel (Nifen), dry into jerky. Hold near infant's nose to induce swallowing.
[Chronic Malaria] Regardless of cold/heat type, use 49 tips of Peach Leaves (from southeast direction) and 49 Pinellia (Banxia) grains. Grind, mix with peach leaf juice to make pills, coat with Realgar (Xionghuang), dry, seal. Insert one wrapped pill into nostril (left for male, right for female) to stop attacks. Most effective if prepared on Dragon Boat Festival.
[Phlegm Nodules] One male crucian carp, cleaned with bamboo knife and wine. Steam with a little Safflower (Honghua) and eat 6-7 times to dissolve.
[Abdominal Mass] Large belly, emaciated muscles, yellow face, progressing to malnutrition. Dry White Hibiscus Flower (Bai Furonghua) powder, stuffed into split chicken liver, steamed with rice and eaten. For severe cases, use Semen Elaeocarpi (Mubiezi) and Quisqualis Seed (Shi Junshi, 5 qian each). Make pills size of longan seed. Crack egg, insert pill, steam with rice, and eat.
[Craving Raw Rice/Tea/Charcoal/Yellow Disease] Fried Barley Sprout (1 jin), Quisqualis Seed (2 liang), Areca Nut (Binglang, 1 liang), Pinellia processed with ginger juice (1 liang). Grind. Add 8 liang of the craved substance (tea/mud/charcoal) to the powder. Bind with honey into pill size of paulownia seed. Take 50 pills morning on empty stomach with brown sugar water. Early stage: Fei Er Wan is also effective.
[Nocturnal Enuresis] Two Chicken Gizzard Linings, one dried/burnt Chicken Intestine, one burnt Pig Bladder. Grind fine. Take 2 qian with wine. Male uses hen parts, female uses rooster parts. 3-4 doses cure. Alternatively, place white paper under mattress, collect urine-stained paper, dry, burn, and take with liquor. Or, cut four horses from red paper, place under child nightly.
[Frequent Urination] Polygala Root (Wuyao), Evodia Seed (Yizhiren, salt-fried), and Cuttlebone Eggshell (Sangpiaoxiao) equal parts. Grind, bind with wine-cooked Yam paste into pills. Take 2 qian on empty stomach with salt water.
