[Magots in Smallpox Lesions] Take peach leaves (any amount, softened by rubbing) and cover them over the smallpox lesions. Place them underneath the body as well, and the magots will disappear. Alternatively, apply a drop of pure sesame oil onto the lesion; the magots will vanish immediately and not recur. (This method is also effective for all types of sores and toxins in summer.)
[Ding of Smallpox] When several smallpox pustules fail to erupt, turn black, and become painful, it is called "Ding of Smallpox." Take mung beans and Vigna angularis beans (49 grains of each, calcined until the external char remains while internal properties are preserved). Pearl (1 fen, boiled in tofu, then ground into fine powder). Ash from oiled hair (2 fen). All ingredients should be ground into extremely fine powder and mixed evenly. Blend with cochineal water to form a paste. First, puncture the Ding with a silver needle, wipe away the purple blood, and apply the medicine to the lesion. Separately, decoct Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma) in strong tea, strain the residue, soak cochineal in the liquid, and knead out the red juice. Dip cotton wool in this red juice and apply frequently to the area.
[Fire Pox in Summer] Characterized by redness all over the body. Crush Viola yedoensis (Baihua Diding), extract the juice, and take it with white wine. It can also treat panting caused by pox; decocting in water yields excellent results.
[Residual Toxin after Smallpox] If swelling and redness appear initially, take Adzuki beans, mung beans, and black soybeans (equal parts), grind into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply frequently. If an abscess has formed, applying around the periphery will cause it to subside.
[Pox Toxin] Refers to high swelling where surgical incision is contraindicated. Take one large toad, remove its skin, pierce five or seven holes in the center, and cover the toxin site. Replace when dry. After three or four applications, it disappears instantly and does not recur. (In winter, search under scattered stones or along riverbanks near water.) Scat of a castrated ram: wash a new tile clean, place the scat on it, cover with another tile, bake slowly over low heat until smoke ceases but the substance remains (calcined), grind into fine powder, and apply mixed with sesame oil.
[Ulceration of Pox Toxin] Bletilla striata (Baihe): roast, grind into fine powder, and sprinkle on the wound. After spontaneous rupture and pus discharge, if the Spleen and Stomach are weak and pus is thin without healing: use Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu) (each stir-fried, 1 qian), Licorice Root (Gancao, 3 fen), add one slice of fresh ginger and two jujubes, decoct in water, and take after meals until healed.
[Gan Erosive Sores after Smallpox] Sores appearing all over the body and joints with continuous pus discharge. Take "Go's Mouth Callus" (E Kou Jian, any amount), fill it with raw alum powder, burn until charred, grind to powder, and sprinkle dry onto the sore to promote healing.
[Facial Sores after Smallpox] Litharge (Mituo Seng), White Silkworm (Bai Jiangcan), Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi), White excrement of hawk (Ying Shi Bai), and Typhonii Rhizoma (Baifuzi) (equal parts). Grind into extremely fine powder, mix with water, and apply topically. After smallpox, avoid consuming tofu, fishy smells, and fatty meats, as excessive intake damages Spleen Qi and causes diarrhea.
[Dispersing Measles] Cherry kernels (49 grains), crushed, combined with one scallion head, decocted in water and taken orally to facilitate eruption. If the fontanelle is open with visible red veins, puncturing them facilitates eruption if stagnation occurs. If diarrhea accompanies the eruption, only clear heat and resolve the exterior; do not stop diarrhea. Use Tamarisci Ramulus (Xihe Liu, 5 qian), decoct in water. If measles fail to erupt fully, accompanied by panting, cough, restlessness, and agitation, use dried leaves of Tamarisci Ramulus (ground to powder), take 4 qian per dose, decocted in water.
[Treating Incomplete Measles Eruption] For cases with swelling of the head, face, and eye sockets, and sudden panting indicating imminent danger, use fumigation therapy. Take raw scallion heads (approx. 1 jin, including roots, pounded into paste), place in a basin (larger basin for older children, more scallions accordingly). Place a wooden frame over the basin and have the child lie on it. Pour boiling water into the basin to generate steam, fumigating the child's entire body. Lift the child once slightly warm. This must be done in a tightly enclosed tent to prevent drafts, continuing until sweat dries, ensuring complete eruption and recovery. (Prevent the child's hands and feet from touching the boiling water.) Almond seeds (Xingren, 10 grains, peeled and destoned, ground to fine powder) mixed with Jiuniang (fermented rice wine starter, do not confuse with distilled liquor or strong wine) taken orally is most effective for dark measles.
[Winter Measles] Due to cold preventing full eruption, accompanied by panting, thirst, and restlessness: use Ephedrae Herba (Mahuang, de-stemmed and soaked in water), stir-fried with honey and wine (8 fen), added to measles-resolving formulas. One dose ensures immediate eruption.
[Accidental Ingestion of Various Worms] Drinking Indigofera tinctoria leaf juice (Dian Qing Shui) induces expulsion.
[Intestinal Parasite Accumulation] Areca Seed (Binglang) ground to powder, taken with honey water in the morning. Semen Quisqualis (Shijunzi), half raw and half cooked, eat a few grains daily. Slice Torreyae Semen (Feizi) and consume generously for good effect. If biting pain is felt (nausea, vomiting saliva during pain, intermittent pain indicates worm colic): use Trogopteri Dung (Wulingzhi, 2 qian) and Alum (Baikufan, 5 qian), ground together. Take 1-2 qian per dose at any time until cured.
[Tapeworm] White, pointed at both ends, varying length (3-5 fen), often protruding from the anus. Areca Seed (Binglang, 8 liang), Torreyae Semen (Feizi, 1 jin), and Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang, 1 liang). Slice and lightly stir-fry, then grind to powder. Take 2-3 qian per dose. Fast on vegetarian diet for three days prior. On the 3rd or 4th day of the lunar month, before dawn (5-7 AM), eat roasted meat first, chewing and swallowing the juice.
