Taste is sweet, nature is warm, non-toxic. Soaked in wine and taken orally, its effect is the same as Yin Nie (a type of stalactite). Also known as Tong Shi (Same Stone), Ru Chuang (Milk Bed), and Ni Shi (Reverse Stone).
Tao Hongjing stated that Kong Gong Nie is Ru Chuang, which is incorrect. Yin Nie and Kong Gong Nie are located above, while Ru Chuang and Zhong Ru Hua (Stalactite Flower) are located below. Although their properties and physical forms are similar, their positions differ. Stalactite water drips down and condenses, growing like bamboo shoots; over time, it connects with the stalactites above to form pillars. It is found in Zhong Ru Tang (Stalactite Halls), and can be harvested at any time. (Newly added)
Taste is pungent, nature is neutral, non-toxic. It treats body itching, fire sores, carbuncles, white tinea capitis (scalp ringworm), scabies, necrotic tissue, and lesions oozing within the skin. After boiling and refining, it can be taken orally to raise Yin Qi and can be transformed into elixirs. Also known as Shi Zhu (Stone Pearl) and Qing Zhu (Green Pearl). It grows in Ping Ze, Shu Commandery, and can be harvested at any time.
It eliminates tin toxicity; combined with Mercury Bichloride (Shui Yin), it is effective. It is contraindicated with Black Chicken Bone. This refers to the Qing Zhu and Huang Huan mentioned in "Shu Du Fu". Huang Huan is actually a plant; if classified together merely due to name similarity, their botanical families are vastly different. Lang Gan (Chrysoprase/Agate) is also the name of a tree on Mount Kunlun and the name of Tai Dan in the "Jiu Zhen Jing". This stone currently has no other uses, except for treating limb edema/deformity (Ni Lu) and eye diseases. Regarding the process of alchemical transformation, there is no confirmed method observed.
[Verification] Lang Gan comes in several colors and belongs to the category of glaze-like treasures, specifically Huo Qi Bao (Fire-Resistant Gem). Among the five colors of Lang Gan, the green variety is superior for medicinal use. It is currently produced in the Wubai Man regions west of Zhou Prefecture and in the Kingdom of Khotan.
Taste is pungent and sweet; nature is extremely hot when raw, warm when fresh, and cold when processed/cooked; toxic. It treats alternating chills and fever, scrofula (lymphatic tuberculosis), corrosive ulcers, necrotic tissue, wind-bi syndrome, hard abdominal masses, pathogenic factors, clears heat, brightens the eyes, directs Qi downward, clears heat from the chest and diaphragm, stops thirst (Xiao Ke), tonifies Liver Qi, breaks up accumulations, treats chronic cold pain, and removes nasal polyps. Long-term use causes tendon contraction. Processed by fire for one hundred days; take one Dao Gui (a small unit of measurement) per dose. If taken unprocessed, it will kill humans and animals. Also known as Qing Fen Shi (Green Split Stone), Li Zhi Shi (Stand Control Stone), Gu Yang Shi (Solidify Sheep Stone), Bai Shi (White Stone), Da Bai Shi (Great White Stone), Ze Ru (Marsh Milk), and Yan Shi (Salt Stone). It grows in valleys in Hanzhong and Mount Shaoshi, and can be harvested at any time.
It performs well with fire; Spine Needle (Ji Zhen) serves as its guiding herb. It is incompatible with Du Gong, Arrowhead, Hu Zhang, and Xi Xin; it fears water. It is also found in Shu and Han regions, but high-quality specimens come from Nan Ye Stream in southern Nankang, within Pengcheng jurisdiction, and along the moat south of Luoyang City, often sourced from Mount Shaoshi. It grows in water within rocks, keeping the water from freezing; thus, even in its raw state, it is extremely hot. Currently, it is wrapped in yellow clay mud and fired in charcoal for a day and night until it crumbles, making it usable. It is excellent for treating cold stagnation. It is widely used in alchemical formulas and Huang Bai Shu (Yellow and White Alchemy texts) because it can soften metals. Additionally, Bai Shi is found in Xinning County, Xiangdong, and Lingling.
[Verification] This stone resists fire; prolonged burning only causes it to disintegrate without losing its hardness. Market vendors sometimes substitute it with fine-grained white marble, which turns to ash when burned; this is incorrect. This drug is effective against accumulations and chronic cold conditions. Substitutes fail to treat these diseases effectively for this reason. The place named Shi Ying Valley west of Wudang in Hanchuan is the true origin. Mount Shaoshi also produces it, in granular form.
