治大人、小儿一切风气热毒攻眼，暴赤肿痛，隐涩羞明方。
羚羊角 川升麻 车前子
上各等分，为末，每服三钱，食后米汤调下。
龙胆草 菊花 草决明 甘草 川芎（各二两）
上为末 麦门冬煎汤下，或热水化砂糖调下。
治肝气不足，内受风热，上攻眼目，昏暗，视物不明，见风多泪，怕日羞明，隐涩难开，翳障，妇人血风烂眩。
栀子 荆芥 菊花 蔓荆子 玄参 细辛 防风 大黄 牵牛（炒） 黄芩 川芎 木贼（去节） 甘草（各一两）
苍术（二两，炒） 草决明（五钱）
上为末，每服一钱，冷酒调下。
治心热目赤。
连翘 柴胡 赤芍药 甘草 当归 栀子 木通 牛蒡子 防风 瞿麦 滑石 黄柏 车前子 黄芩 荆芥 蝉
蜕（去头足） 薄荷 生地黄
上各等分， 咀，水煎服。
治心热毒瓦斯眼。
黄连（四两）
上为末，用羯羊肝，去筋膜，捣烂，生为丸，日进二服，每服五十丸，茶清送下。
治男妇眼目红肿。
当归 熟地黄 茯苓 川椒 甘草 茴香 山药 黄连 菊花
上各等分，水煎服。
Formulas for treating adults and children suffering from eyes affected by wind, qi, heat, and toxic pathogens attacking the eyes, resulting in sudden redness, swelling, pain, a sensation of grittiness and dryness, and photophobia.
Antelope Horn (Lingyangjiao), Rhizoma et Radix Bupleuri (Chuan Shengma), Semen Plantaginis (Cheqianzi)
Take equal parts of each, grind into powder. Take three qian per dose, mixed with rice soup after meals.
Radix Gentianae Longdancao (Longdancao), Flos Chrysanthemi (Juhua), Fructus Cassiae Obedularis (Caojueming), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao), Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong) (each two liang)
Grind the above ingredients into powder. Take with decoction of Radix Ophiopogonis (Mendong), or mix with hot water and sugar.
For treating insufficient Liver Qi, internal contraction of wind-heat, which attacks upward to the eyes, causing dim vision, blurred sight, excessive tearing when exposed to wind, photophobia, difficulty opening the eyes due to dryness and grittiness, nebulae, and women's blood-wind causing rotting and dizziness.
Fructus Gardeniae (Zhizi), Herba Schizonepetae (Jingjie), Flos Chrysanthemi (Juhua), Fructus Viticis Exaltatae (Manjingzi), Radix Scrophulariae (Xuanshen), Radix Asari (Xixin), Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng), Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang), Semen Kochiae (Qianniu, stir-fried), Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin), Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), Herba Equiseti (Muzei, remove nodes), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao) (each one liang)
Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Cangzhu, two liang, stir-fried), Fructus Cassiae Obedularis (Caojueming, five qian)
Grind the above ingredients into powder. Take one qian per dose, mixed with cold wine.
For treating red eyes caused by Heart Heat.
Fructus Forsythiae (Lianqiao), Radix Bupleuri (Chaihu), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chishaoyao), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), Fructus Gardeniae (Zhizi), Caulis Akebiae (Mutong), Fructus Arctii (Niubangzi), Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng), Herba Dianthi (Qumai), Talcum (Huashi), Cortex Phellodendri (Huangbai), Semen Plantaginis (Cheqianzi), Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin), Herba Schizonepetae (Jingjie), Periostracum Cicadae (Chantui, remove head and feet), Folium Menthae Haplocalycis (Bohe), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shengdihuang)
Take equal parts of each, cut into pieces, decoct in water, and take orally.
For treating eye conditions caused by Heart Heat and toxic vapors.
Radix Coptidis (Huanglian, four liang)
Grind into powder. Use liver of castrated male sheep (Jieyanggan), remove fascia, pound into paste, mix with powder to make pills. Take twice daily, fifty pills per dose, taken down with clear tea.
For treating redness and swelling of the eyes in men and women.
Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shudihuang), Poria (Fuling), Fructus Zanthoxyli (Chuanjiao), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao), Fructus Foeniculi (Huixiang), Rhizoma Dioscoreae (Shanyao), Radix Coptidis (Huanglian), Flos Chrysanthemi (Juhua)
Take equal parts of each, decoct in water, and take orally.
For treating Heat in the Lung and Large Intestine.
Cortex Morus Radicis (Sangbaipi), Cortex Lycii (Digupi) (each one liang), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao, five qian)
Cut into pieces, decoct in water, and take orally.
For treating red and swollen eyes caused by Liver Heat.
Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui), Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), Radix Gentianae Longdancao (Longdancao), Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang), Radix Notopterygii (Qianghuo), Fructus Gardeniae (Shanzhizi)
Take equal parts of each, mix with honey to make pills. Take thirty pills per dose, taken down with clear soup.
