Sheng Xiuwen transmitted this to He Fanghui, saying: "Previously in Heshuo, I suffered from spleen and stomach dysentery with pus and blood, accompanied by fever, vomiting, cholera-like symptoms, severe heart and abdominal cramping pain, occasional cold sweats, and cold extremities, nearly dying. Carrying this medicine, I decocted and took it; after two doses, my condition stabilized."

For watery diarrhea, slippery discharge, intestinal wind, and visceral toxins, mix with aged rice water and salt, take warm. For red and white dysentery, take with Gancao (Licorice Root) and Heidou (Black Soybean) decoction. When spleen origin is affected by deficient pathogens leading to alternating chills and fever, or spleen/stomach deficiency-cold, acid regurgitation with qi distension, retained food and alcohol, belching..., decoct together until 70%, add a little salt, chew ginger and jujube, take the decoction hot. For stomach qi stagnation with belching, take half a teacup of natural ginger juice with salt, sip hot. For complete loss of appetite or slight intake, weak qi with diaphragmatic fullness, chew small pieces of baked ginger first, take with salt water hot. For alcohol intoxication, follow the same method. For all qi stagnation transforming into myriad diseases, take as described above. Usually, timing does not matter; if prepared as a granule drink, adding ginger, salt, and Zisu (Perilla Leaf) is best. It greatly aids digestion, smooths qi, benefits the diaphragm, and opens the stomach; its merits cannot be fully detailed!
