**Prescription for Water-Mixed Paste to Treat All Kinds of Swelling and Toxic Sores, transmitted by Daoist Ye.**
Take *Xiaofen* (Mung Bean Starch) in any amount, stir-fry until charred black, and grind into a fine powder. First, take one large cup of rice vinegar, add two stalks of crushed *Saojiao* (Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit), boil for several times until rolling, filter out the residue, and seal the liquid for storage. When using, gradually mix with the powder, or spread it on paper flowers and apply to the affected area.
**For all kinds of red swelling and toxic sores, taking this will cause them to dissipate naturally, transmitted by Zhou Cai.**
*Chitu* (Red Earth) (size of one soap bean) *Mubiezi* (Seed of Momordica Charantia, seven pieces, processed, skin removed).
Grind the above ingredients together until extremely uniform. Divide into three doses. Take mixed with hot wine or rice water after meals. This method does not disturb the Zang-Fu organs, and usually takes effect within one dose.
**When the swelling first appears, place leeches on the swollen area to suck blood; the swelling will subside naturally. Replace with new leeches. The blood-filled leeches can be revived by placing them in fresh water.**
Wu Nei Han's *Beiji Fang* (Emergency Formulas) records that his nephew, Zu Ren, suddenly felt a sore on his back one day, red and swollen like a bowl. He urgently used this treatment, and was cured by evening.
Another prescription: *Sheng Gancao* (Raw Licorice Root) powder, mixed with wine, take two qianbi (approx. 6-10g) at once. Wu Zhongfeng took this and achieved efficacy. It treats swelling, toxicity, carbuncles, and sores; if unruptured, it causes resolution; if ruptured, it promotes rapid healing.
*Cawutou* (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii) ground into fine powder, mixed with fresh water, sweep the swollen area with a chicken feather. If there is an open sore, first apply a plaster to secure it, ensuring *Cawutou* does not touch the wound. Someone suffering from severe sore swelling applied this; while sitting, the skin wrinkled and slowly subsided. Upon initial application, the patient felt cold as ice, but the sore ceased to pain.
**Apply this powder when first appearing for immediate effect. Prescription from Tang Zhubu.**
*Cawutou* (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii, peeled) *Qiu Hou Furong* (Hibiscus Mutabilis leaves dried in shade after autumn).
Grind the above ingredients in equal parts into a fine powder. Mix with natural juice of fresh ginger to form a paste. Apply to the sore and swelling, leaving a small hole at the center to vent toxic gases. Change when dry. Its nature is cold as ice; pain stops immediately, and swelling dissipates immediately. If toxic gas is abundant, add equal parts of *Tiannanxing* (Rhizoma Arisaematis) powder.
**Treats all kinds of swelling and toxicity, and treats swelling accompanied by pain. Prescription from Wei Quan, a doctor from Chuzhou.**
*Tiannanxing* (Rhizoma Arisaematis) *Yujin* (Radix Curcumae Longae) *Mubiezi* (Seed of Momordica Charantia, shelled) *Cawutou* (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii) *Chixiaodou* (Adzuki Bean) *Puxiao* (Natrii Sulfas, ground finely, added as needed).
Grind the above ingredients in equal parts, all raw, into a fine powder. If the swelling is red, mix with cold water and apply/sweep around the periphery of the swelling; if not red, mix with warm, diluted vinegar and apply.
