Prescription from Sheng Zhi.
Realgar (Xionghuang, used raw) Ophidiis Periostracum (Shetui, calcined to ash, retaining its medicinal properties)
Equal parts of the above are ground into a fine powder and applied externally.
Another prescription, from Wen Zhi (two more prescriptions are at the end of the volume).
Realgar (Xionghuang, selecting transparent and high-quality pieces) Cicadae Periostracum (Chantui, three pieces, fried with butter, each ground into a fine powder)
Mix the above ingredients evenly. For cases with dampness, sprinkle the powder dry; for dry cases, mix with saliva and a small amount of Calomelas (Qingfen) and apply.
Another prescription: Alum (Baifan, purified by sublimation) Lithargyrum (Mituoseng)
Equal parts of the above are ground into a fine powder and sprinkled dry on the sore. If the powder does not stay in place, wrap it with a thin cloth. This prescription also treats foot odor caused by sweat.
Another prescription, from the family of Song Canyi.
Galla Chinensis (Wubeizi, calcined until carbonized but retaining its nature, appearing as black ash) Dyer's Coreopsis Fruit (Ranyanzhi, equal parts) Moschus (Shexiang, a small amount)
Grind all together until extremely fine and sprinkle. Raw Wubeizi can also be used.
Prescription of Chen Sicheng Zhongshan.
Hupo Tang refers to sugar balls made by boiling sugar. Calcine them until they become ash while retaining their medicinal properties. Add Moschus (Shexiang) and Calomelas (Qingfen), mix with Sesame Oil (Mahu You) for external application. For ingrown nails, within one or two days the affected tissue will naturally rot and fall off, and new healthy nail will grow. Healthy areas remain undamaged. This is miraculous!
Another prescription: Take three pieces of purple horse manure, wrap each piece in a piece of green cloth, and calcine them on a new tile over charcoal fire until they resemble bran-like charcoal, retaining their medicinal properties. Grind into a fine powder. For every half tael, add Myrrha (Moyao) worth ten wen, Calomelas (Qingfen) worth ten wen, and a small amount of Moschus (Shexiang). First wash with decoction of Scallion and Pepper, then dry. Spit the water containing Licorice Paste (Gancao Jiangshui) held in the mouth onto the sore, wash again, and apply the medicine. For damp cases, sprinkle dry powder; for dry cases, mix with raw oil and apply. The initial application causes severe pain for one night, but after three applications, the root cause is removed. A relative suffered from this condition for twenty-five years.
Very unique, Lu Shi's Continued Prescription.
Asphaltum (Qingliang, two taels) Beeswax (Huangla, one tael)
Boil and stir together until uniform, and store in a non-porous container. The patient first washes the area with hot wine to soften the skin, then dries it. Heat the medicine slowly until slightly melted, apply it, cover with soft cloth, and it heals after one application. Lian Xuandong stated that adding Radix Scutellariae (Huangqin) and Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng), one tael each, is beneficial.
Grind Galla Chinensis (Wubeizi) alone into a fine powder. First wipe the area dry with clean paper, mix with Sesame Oil (Mahu You) and apply externally. Prescription of Zhao Yanxin.
