[Renshen Decoction Formula]
Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig), Yanhusuo (Corydalis Rhizome), Duzhong (Eucommia Bark, peeled and stir-fried until the fibers break)
The above herbs are equally divided and ground into fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, mixed with hot wine on an empty stomach.
Another formula: Use raw Juhé (Citrus Aurantium Seed), stir-fry until fragrant, grind it, add wine, remove the dregs, and then process into Qingmuxiang Wan (Blue Sandalwood Pill).
Another formula: Weilingxian (Sinomenium Caulis) and Juhé (Citrus Aurantium Seed) in equal proportions, ground into fine powder, taken with hot wine. Another method involves boiling and eating pig kidneys; after taking the medicine, tea should be avoided as it counteracts the effect of Weilingxian.
Another formula is the famous "Shujin San" (Relax Tendons Powder) passed down by Ge Cheng, treating blood vessel stagnation, tendon spasm, joint pain, and difficulty walking. This medicine is a premier agent for invigorating blood and transforming qi. See the Stroke Chapter for details. Another version adds Chuanpi (Tangerine Peel).
Yanhusuo (Corydalis Rhizome), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root), Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig)
The above herbs are equally divided and ground into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine, taken before meals.
Treating dull lower back pain, which is slightly relieved by applying hot objects to the painful area. This is caused by long-term residence in damp and low places, combined with wind-pathogen invasion, leading to conflict between the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian and qi and blood. The Baizhu San Four Formulas were pointed out by Shi Zaizhi, and there are woodblock editions in the public treasury of Yanzhou in the south.
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 2 liang), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 3 liang), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, 1.5 liang), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 0.5 liang)
The above herbs are ground into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine.
Another formula: If there is continuous lower abdominal pain, difficulty in bending and stretching, and shortness of breath, this is due to kidney qi deficiency and excessive damage to nutritive blood, resulting in loss. Use Duzhong San (Eucommia Powder).
Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex, 1 liang, peeled, pounded until soft, soaked in good wine overnight, then dried by roasting), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Mudanpi (Moutan Cortex, each 0.5 liang)
The above herbs are ground into fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine.
Another formula is Lurong Wan (Deer Antler Pill), treating lower back pain due to kidney qi deficiency.
Lurong (Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, 3 liang, sliced, roasted with butter until golden brown)

Another formula: If the waist is often cold, feeling heavy as if weighed down by five thousand coins, like sitting in water, with a sensation of heaviness resembling water, and no thirst. This is due to kidney deficiency, accumulation of water inside, compounded by wind-cold invasion. If prolonged and unhealed, it leads to water disease, called "Renzhen" (Kidney Fixation). It is suitable to take Renshen Tang (Kidney Fixation Decoction).
Fuling (Poria, 4 liang), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 4 liang), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, 2 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang)
