Hemiplegia can affect both men and women, but men are particularly cautioned against left-sided involvement, while women are cautioned against right-sided involvement. After contracting this disease, wind-dispelling herbs should not be temporarily discontinued. It is acceptable to maintain moxa sores on the body. Sexual intercourse is strictly contraindicated. One must cultivate oneself like a Daoist or Buddhist monk to ensure recovery without further complications. If performing moxibustion, one should first moxa Baihui (GV20) and Xinhui (GV22), then Fengchi (GB20), Jianyu (LI15), Quchi (LI11), Hegu (LI4), Huantiao (GB30), Fengshi (GB31), Zusanli (ST36), and Juegu (GB39). Do not rigidly adhere to the old meridian theory of "moxa the opposite side if the disease is on the left or right." Simply moxa the areas that feel sore and tender upon pressure. Moxing both sides is also beneficial. However, moxa should proceed from top to bottom.

One to two sheng of dark, viscous blood were drained. This puncture was repeated six or seven times. After three months of herbal medication, the illness was completely cured.
