Treat nightmare. And treat prone to nightmares (from *Zisheng Jing*). Acupoint: Shangqiu (SP5).
Treat inverted dreams at night. Complexion is greenish-yellow and lusterless. Acupoint: Tianyou (GB18).
In all cases where the Yin pulse at the Chi position of the Hand-Shaoyin Heart meridian is absent, it indicates the absence of the Kidney pulse. If the feet are cold upwards, Qi rushes upward causing chest pain, one dreams of entering water and seeing ghosts, suffers from frequent somnolence, and perceives black objects covering the person. Prick upwardly along the Foot-Taiyang Bladder meridian to treat Yang disorders.
For those who appear dead due to nightmare, do not illuminate with lamps or call out urgently nearby, as this may cause death. Instead, bite forcefully on their heel, moxa the edge of the nail of the big toe, and spit saliva frequently onto their face; they will revive. Additionally, moxa three or seven moxibustion cones in the hair tuft of the big toe for a collective effect (*Qianjin Yifang* states: For any nightmare without consciousness, moxa thirty-five cones in the hair tufts of both big toes).
Master Wang said: A woman suffered from frequent nightmares at night, likely caused by excessive mental exertion while serving her sick parents in her youth. After taking Dingzhi Wan (Stabilize Spirit Pill), she no longer suffered from frequent nightmares. While acupuncture and moxibustion should not be abandoned, herbal medicine must also not be neglected.
Prescription for sudden nightmare: Tie the elbow crease posteriorly with a silk ribbon, left side for males, right side for females, twist tightly. Then tie the feet, and urgently ask for the cause. Arrange to untie them. Have one person sit beside the head and another call the patient's name from inside the doorway. The sitter responds, "Yes, I am here." The patient then revives.

Master Wang said: For patients with heart and abdominal fullness/distension, I often use Houpo (Magnolia Bark). Instruct to take approximately 7-8 qian of finely chopped herb per dose, reducing for children. Decoct with seven slices of fresh ginger and one small bowl of water until reduced to 70%. Administer orally. Re-decoct the dregs and administer. Within five to six doses, the distension resolves. The efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion may not be this rapid. Therefore, I record this here.
