Moxibustion of three *zhuang* (or seven *zhuang*, which is effective) at the Jiaomai point located above the lateral malleolus, anterior to the prominent bone. Additionally, take a thread, measure the length from the tip of the middle finger to the distal palmar crease, divide this length into four parts, then measure posterior to this crease on the arm, and apply moxibustion of two *zhuang* in the center of the arm; the condition will resolve. Apply treatment according to the side of the pain.
Wang Shi stated: An elderly woman suffered from chronic toothache. Someone instructed her to cross both palms, using the tip of the middle finger as the acupoint, and apply moxibustion of seven *zhuang*. She never experienced pain again.
This is likely Waiguan (TE5). The point is located in the depression two cun posterior to the wrist on the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian. The wife of Quan Si Shaozi also suffered from toothache. Others treated her by applying moxibustion slightly anterior to the hand's lateral malleolus area. Her pain ceased permanently. However, it is unclear whether the "above the lateral malleolus" mentioned in *Qianjin Fang* refers to the foot or the hand lateral malleolus; those knowledgeable should distinguish between them.

Method for moxibustion to treat toothache: On the affected side, locate the shoulder tip slightly posterior into the bone gap. Raise the arm slightly to find the depression at the joint. Apply moxibustion of five *zhuang*.
Wang Shi said: I personally treated several people with this method, all were cured. After moxibustion, they experienced severe neck pain which subsided after a long time, but the condition never recurred. I myself suffered from toothache, and various treatments failed. This method cured me. Furthermore, Xin Shuai had recently recovered from a cold when he ate green plums, leading to severe toothache. A Daoist priest treated him by applying moxibustion of three *zhuang* to the depression proximal to the base of the flexed thumb. Initially, the painful tooth felt itchy; upon the second application, the tooth made a sound; after three *zhuang*, the pain stopped. It has been twenty years since then. This is likely Yangxi (LI5). It is also stated: To treat toothache, the Hand-Yangming Large Intestine Meridian enters the interdental space. For left-sided pain, moxa the right side; for right-sided pain, moxa the left side.
To treat toothache (*Wei Shi Fang*): Apply moxibustion of seven *zhuang* to the depressions anterior to the first phalanx on the dorsal aspect of both middle fingers. The fire extinguished, the pain resolves immediately.
To treat toothache. Select Hegu (LI4).
Prescription for dental caries: Whenever there is pain from dental caries, the tooth must be extracted. Without skilled technique, the pain is unbearable. Regardless of upper or lower teeth, on the affected side, near the junction of the gum and the gonial angle of the mandible, press with fingers to locate the tender point as the acupoint. Apply moxibustion of seven *zhuang*. Once the wound heals, the decayed tooth falls out naturally. The effect is miraculous. Alternatively, use a cone-shaped moxa stick made of fat/oil, insert it into the carious cavity, and the pus/fat will drain out.
To treat toothache, needle Neiting (ST44) bilaterally. If the pain resembles insect erosion, apply topical medication to cure. Another method distinguishes by gender (left for males, right for females); locate the point on the shoulder head, apply moxibustion rotating three times. Treat contralaterally: left pain on the right, right pain on the left.

To treat alveolar osteitis (bone groove wind), apply moxibustion above the ridge in the ear at the site of pain.
To treat toothache, moxa Jianjing (GB21) seven *zhuang*, treating contralaterally. Another method: moxa three *zhuang* on the bone below the earlobe where the toothache originates. If ineffective, increase the number of *zhuang*.
To treat toothache, first use rice husk fibers to measure the middle segment of the middle finger. If the hand is long, measure from the palm base up the arm for two segments. Apply moxibustion of seventy-five *zhuang*. Treat contralaterally: left toothache on the right, right toothache on the left.
