Treating severe cases of double tongue. Use the right hand to remove the fascia at the "Quzhao" area. Start by rubbing the tendons under the tongue upwards towards the root, gradually increasing depth and pressure. Repeat this three times. Then, dip fingers in water and locate the fascia within the small depression at Yanke (located at the back of the neck). Rub downwards deeply into the small cavity. Repeat three times. If the infant can suckle milk as before, the disease is cured.

Treating sudden swelling of the tongue filling the mouth, dryness of the throat, and obstruction of breathing resembling an inflated pig bladder. Failure to treat urgently may result in death. Urgently scrape both sides of the tongue with fingers until fluid drains out, which leads to recovery. Alternatively, incise both sides using a bi-blade (nine-edged needle/surgical knife) and apply wound ointment.
Treating sudden tongue swelling. Puncture the large vessels on both sides under the tongue to allow bloodletting. Avoid puncturing the central vessel under the tongue, as uncontrolled bleeding may be fatal. If previous treatments fail or if several sheng (a unit of volume) of blood are lost, heat an iron comb until red-hot and apply it to the wound several times to stop the bleeding.
