Treatment for dog bites. If there is no sweating accompanied by aversion to cold and fever (see Waixiu [Exterior Hill] acupoint), immediately apply moxibustion with three cones. Moxibustion can be applied at the bitten site, which will lead to recovery. In late spring and early summer, if a rabid dog bites a person, the person may immediately go mad, and it takes over a hundred days to avoid the onset of symptoms. One must strictly avoid consuming dog meat and silkworm pupae for life; consuming these foods will trigger an incurable relapse. First, remove the bad blood. Apply ten cones of moxibustion in the wound. From the next day onwards, apply one cone daily until the hundredth day. Avoid alcohol. Every seven days, crush fresh Chinese chive juice and drink one or two cups.
Treatment for snakes entering the seven orifices while sleeping: Apply moxibustion to the snake's tail, and the snake will exit. Another method: slightly incise the snake's tail with a knife, insert seven grains of Sichuan pepper, and the snake will exit on its own. After the snake exits, grind realgar (Realgar) and cinnabar finely, decoct them in Ginseng Decoction, and administer orally to eliminate snake venom.
Treatment for snake bites: Immediately wash the wound with urine, dry it, and apply moxibustion, which is effective. Additionally, *Chaoye Qianzai* records that applying moxa cones directly to the bite site of a venomous snake draws out the toxic qi, leading to recovery. Slice single-clove garlic thinly and apply it to the bite site; stop moxibustion when the heat penetrates thoroughly. Apply 21 to 27 cones of moxibustion on the snake venom site. If moxa is unavailable, use fire heads to cauterize based on the size of the wound.
Treatment for rabid dog bites: Have someone suck out all the bad blood, then apply 100 cones of moxibustion. Continue daily moxibustion for 100 days. If blood does not come out, one must abstain from alcohol and pork for life.
Treatment for various bites from snakes, vipers, and centipedes: Apply moxa cones to the injured area for 3 to 5 cones to draw out the toxin and achieve recovery; or apply 7 cones, which stops pain immediately.
Treatment for venomous snake bites: Apply moxa cones to the bite site to draw out the toxic vapors, leading to recovery. This method is also effective for other poisonous insect stings and horse sweat entering wounds.
Treatment for injuries caused by the "Shegong" (a mythical toxic creature): Symptoms include aversion to cold and fever, or sores appearing in specific areas different from normal. It is said that in Jiangnan, there is a toxic insect called Shegong, also known as Duanhu or Yu, which lives in mountain waters. When bathing, this insect shoots its shadow-like projectile from a bony structure in its mouth, causing illness. If such sores appear on the body, chop garlic thinly, apply it to the sore, and apply 10 cones of moxibustion on the garlic to cure the condition.
Treatment for Shegong toxicity: Apply moxibustion to the toxic sores. If accumulated sores are found on the body, treat them urgently. Apply moxibustion around the perimeter of the sore, starting one cun away from the edge. Apply 100 cones per spot; this is highly effective.
Treatment for Sand Louse (Shashi) toxicity: Use ten jin of garlic, warm it in hot ashes. Cut the garlic and place the warm pieces on the sore. After using ten jin, apply seven cones of moxibustion on top.
Another prescription: For deep infestations, use a needle to pick out the insects, similar to picking out scabies mites visible against light. If they cannot be picked out, apply 3 to 4 cones of moxibustion on the spot, killing the insects and curing the disease. If symptoms persist... (text missing), indicating severe depth, stop [local treatment] and use folk methods to extract them, bathing with various herbal decoctions. Use three sheng of water, continuing until all are removed. Follow this prescription and combine with emergency treatments for stream toxins and Shegong attacks. Recovery should occur within seven days; otherwise, flying insects may attack again, entering the heart and causing death. Do not underestimate this.
Treatment for scorpion stings without enduring pain: Examine the meridians and sections, assess the flow of Qi, and puncture with a filiform needle. After inserting the needle, recite the spell: "Heavenly Spirit prospers, wishing for long life. The primary essence guards the true form. Organ deities, each maintain peace. As the divine needle descends, ten thousand poisons hide their forms. Execute swiftly according to law." Acupuncture accelerates recovery. Recite the spell once, blow a breath onto the needle as if piercing it.
Treatment for snake stings: Chew salt, mix with saliva, apply to the wound, and apply three cones of moxibustion. Then chew more salt, mix with saliva, apply to the wound, and moxibustion again.
