*Zisheng Jing* states: The diseases caused by Seven Injuries include reddish and hot urine, intermittent frequency, occasional difficulty in urination, sometimes excessive volume, or a stinging sensation like needle pricks; constant dampness below the yin; impotence; shrinking of the penis; clear and scanty semen; continuous leakage; coldness at the tip of the yin; and pain within the penis. One should take medicine early and apply moxibustion.

*Zisheng Jing* states: Zhang Zhongjing discussed the Seven Injuries as follows: 1. Yin sweat; 2. Abnormal yin essence; 3. Clear yin (clear semen); 4. Scanty essence; 5. Dampness and itching under the scrotum; 6. Frequent urination; 7. Nighttime yin discomfort. Therefore, yin sweat, yin dampness, and itching belong to the category of the Seven Injuries. Should one not treat them early? Some attribute it to heart fire causing damp-heat in the qi mechanism, which is due to the heart qi; this is because the Heart and Kidney are exterior-interior paired organs. *Qianjin Yi Fang*, in its discussion on deficiency and damage, states that diseases arise from Five Exhaustions, leading to Five Extremities (see details on Cold and Heat). This subsequently generates the Seven Injuries: 1. Yin cold; 2. Impotence; 3. Tightness in the three li (referring to lower abdomen/tendons); 4. Continuous leakage of essence; 5. Scanty essence and damp scrotum; 6. Clear essence; 7. Frequent urination. The symptoms include reddish and hot urine, or a stinging sensation like needle pricks; impotence and shrinking penis; constant dampness below the yin; clear and scanty semen. This discussion differs slightly from Zhang Zhongjing's, so it is recorded here.
