Immortal Wine Formula
Cortex Phellodendri (Huangbo), Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (Duhuo), Radix Sophorae Flavescentis (Kushen), Osmanthus Flower (Guihua), Pogostemon Cablin (Huoxiang), Rhizoma Cyperi (Xiangfu), Turmeric (Jianghuang), Galangal (Liangjiang), Dried Ginger (Ganjiang), Talcum (Huashi), Nardostachys Chinensis (Gansong), and Kaempferia Galanga (Sansai). The above ingredients are taken in equal amounts.
Rice, Honey Wine.
Good honey (2 jin), water (1 bowl), fine Qu (fermenting agent) (1.5 sheng), good dry yeast (2 liang). First, boil the honey and water together, skimming off the foam.
Allow it to cool completely.
Add the Qu.
Aged tea (Lathea), Sandalwood (Tanxiang), Nardostachys Chinensis (Gansong), Pericarpium Zanthoxyli (Dingpi), Amomum Villosum (Suosha), Costus Root (Muxiang), Pomegranate Peel (Shiliupi), Alum (Mingfan), Cardamom (Baidoukou) (the above each 3 qian), Peppermint (Bohe) (0.5 qian). The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder.
Place in an incense container (Xianghe).
During preparation, seal the bottle mouth with lotus leaves, then seal the inside of the bottle mouth with multiple layers of paper, and finally cover the top with refined salt.

Storage Method
Ink Refining Method
For every 10 qian of soot, use 6 stems of Lithospermum Erythrorhizon (Zicao), 5 wen of Pogostemon Cablin (Huoxiang), 5 wen of Nardostachys Chinensis (Gansong), and a piece of Angelica Dahurica (Xiangbaizhi) as large as a finger, crushed finely. Air-dry, avoiding direct sunlight. Once the ink is dry, wipe it smooth with a cloth dipped in water; this is excellent. The ink produced by this method is very black. If a small amount of Calamine (Qingfen) is added, it becomes even more lustrous.
For 30 qian of soot, use 1 liang of glue, 21 qian of water, one-tenth part of Cinnabar (Zhusha), and half that amount of Green Vitriol (Lvfan). For every 1 jin of soot, use 5 liang 2 qian of glue, mixing thoroughly.
Crush white alum (Baifan) and cover with Lithospermum Erythrorhizon (Zicao); when it turns KT color, it is ready. Take the black ink, store it in a black glossy box, and close the lid immediately.
Glue Method
For every 1 liang of soot, use 1.5 qian of Fish Glue (Yujiao), 2 qian of Donkey-hide Gelatin (Ejiao), and 0.5 qian each of Cortex Fraxini (Qinpi), Rhizoma Coptidis (Huanglian), Fructus Terminaliae Chebulae (Hezi), Cortex Phellodendri (Huangpi), Rhizoma Bletillae Striatae (Baiji), Rhizoma Ampelopsis Japonicae (Bailian), and Dragon's Blood (Zikuang).
Beating/Processing.
After three days, take it out, wash it with water using Equisetum ramosissimum (Muzecao), and brush it to a shine when dry. If fragrance is desired, add Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian) to the soot, or decoct Angelica Dahurica (Xiangbaizhi) and Vetiveria Rizoma (Maoxiang) with the medicinal juice and add it. For every 1 jin of soot, use 5 liang 6 qian of glue.
Soot Collection Method
Use 2 parts real Tung Oil (Tongyou) and 1 part Sesame Oil (Mayou). Light the wick after it burns down, cover with a white bowl, 2 cun high. Use 4-5 strands of rush pith (Dengxin) per lamp, and 2 castor seeds (Bimazi).
Soot Burning Method
Take 1 jin of Tung Oil (Tongyou), 2 qian each of Semen Platycladi (Baiziren) and Semen Crotonis Tiglii (Badou), grind into powder, and mix into the oil evenly. Use 20 lamp dishes, filled full with oil.
