Treats aphthous ulcers in the mouth and tongue. Phlegm-saliva obstruction. Swelling and pain in the throat.
Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, 薄荷) [1 jin, take the finest powder, 2 liang 5 qian] Suazhenren (Amomi Fructus Rotundus, 缩砂仁) [0.5 liang, take the powder, 2 qian] Naozi (Borneolum Syntheticum, 脑子) [0.5 qian, separately ground] Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 川芎) [0.5 liang, take the powder, 1 qian]
Naozi. Contains Jiegeng.
Another prescription
Treats aphthous ulcers in the mouth and tongue (from Haishang Mingfang)
Xingren (Prunus Armeniaca Seed, 杏仁) seven pieces, peel and remove the tips. Qingfen (Calomelas, 轻粉) a small amount. Chew together. Spit out the saliva. It will heal immediately.
Another prescription
Treats heat in the Upper Jiao. Ulcers in the mouth, tongue, and throat. With pus and blood.
Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix, 桔梗) [1 liang] Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 甘草) [2 liang] Grind into powder. Take 2 qian per dose. Add one cup of water. Decoct until six-tenths remain. Remove the dregs. Take warm.
Sip slowly after meals.
Ganlu Yin (Sweet Dew Decoction, 甘露饮) (from Ruyi Fang)
Treats aphthous ulcers in the mouth and tongue. Bleeding gums with heart-heat.
Pipaye (Loquat Leaf, 枇杷叶) Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis, 石斛) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 甘草) [roasted] Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens, 生地黄) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 黄芩) Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, 麦门冬) [remove the heart, equal parts] Coarsely crush. Decoct in water.
Take after meals.
Jiawei Longshi San (Modified Dragon Stone Powder, 加味龙石散)
Treats aphthous ulcers in the mouth and tongue. Frequent bleeding. Throat swelling and obstruction. Pain and stifling sensation.
Hanshuishi (Calcitum, 寒水石) [calcined, 4 liang] Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 朱砂) [washed and ground, 2 qian] Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas Exsiccatus, 马牙硝) [exsiccated, 1 qian] Qianbaishuang (Plumbi Subcarbonas, 铅白霜) [0.5 qian] Pengsha (Borax, 硼砂) [0.5 qian] Naozi (Borneolum Syntheticum, 脑子) [swallow it. No harm.]
Longshi San (Dragon Stone Powder, 龙石散) (from Heji Fang)
Treats toxic accumulation in the upper diaphragm of adults and children. Aphthous ulcers in the mouth and tongue. Throat swelling and obstruction. Pain and stifling sensation. Use a small amount each time. Sprinkle and apply to the affected area, swallowing saliva. For pediatric exanthematous diseases where toxic qi attacks the teeth and mouth, first use Wufu Huadu Dan to clear, then still use this powder to sprinkle and apply. It heals immediately.
Zhusha (Cinnabaris, 朱砂) [ground and washed, 2 liang 5 qian] Hanshuishi (Calcitum, 寒水石) [calcined red, 2 jin] Shengnaozi (Fresh Borneolum Syntheticum, 生脑子) [ground, 2 qian 5 fen] Grind into powder. Use five or seven times daily. At night before sleep.
Chuihou San (Throat Blowing Powder, 吹喉散) (from Renzhi Zhizhi Fang)
Treats fire-heat in the Three Jiao. Aphthous ulcers in the mouth and tongue. Throat swelling and obstruction. Dullness and confusion of spirit. Can treat all these conditions.
Puhuang (Typhae Pollen, 蒲黄) [1 liang] Penxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 盆硝) [8 liang] Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis, 青黛) [1.5 liang] Use one sheng of Bohe juice. Mix Penxiao, Qingdai, and Puhuang together.
Or for throat swelling.
Treats sores on the lips.
Use good ink, grind and apply.
