When Shao Yin Jun Huo (Ministerial Fire of the Shaoyin channel) governs the Si Tian (Heavenly Qi), Yang Ming Zao Jin (Dryness Metal of the Yangming channel) governs the Zai Quan (Earthly Qi). The Central Yun is Tai Jiao Mu Yun (Excessive Wood Movement). The annual Wood Qi is excessive, and its Qi transformation operates prior to the natural timing. Ministerial Fire is above; the Left is Tai Yang Han Shui (Great Cold Water of the Taiyang channel), and the Right is Shao Yang Xiang Huo (Ministerial Fire of the Shaoyang channel), thus there is a transformation of two for heat and summer heat.

In this year, Fire is the Heavenly Qi, Metal is the Earthly Qi, and Wood Movement is in the middle. Fire overcomes Metal, and Wood generates Fire. The Heavenly Qi is abundant. It is advisable to first select the source of Fire's transformation (regulate organs related to Fire), must suppress the excessive Wood movement, and support the yearly overcoming Qi (Metal), so as not to let the Wood Qi become violent and cause disease. Eat red and white grains to preserve the True Qi; eat grains corresponding to the Inter-Qi to ward off empty evil.

The annual Qi is suitable for using salty flavor to soften hardness and harmonize the upper part; if the condition is severe, use bitter flavor to disperse. The upper part is suitable for salty-cold to clear transformation, the middle for sour-cool, and the lower for sour-warm.

Before the mid-year, Heat transformation dominates. If Heat Yin (excessive Heat) prevails, then Fu Re (stagnant heat) arrives, Fire conducts its administration, and people suffer from vexation and heat in the chest, dry throat, and fullness/pain on the right side (text missing). Assist with appropriate herbs.

After the mid-year, Dryness transformation dominates. If Dryness Yin prevails, then fog and mist are clear and dim, and people suffer from frequent belching/vomiting, vomiting bitter fluid, frequent sighing, pain in the heart and hypochondrium, and inability to turn or move (text missing). Regulate the transformation of the Wood Yun, named Ji Yue Fa Sheng, which is called opening stagnation. Earth Qi is dredged, Cang Qi (Wood Qi) reaches, Yang Qi spreads transformation, Yin Qi follows, Sheng Qi (Generating Qi) is pure and transformative, and all things flourish.

First Qi: From the beginning of Yin hour on Da Han day of Xin Hai year to the beginning of Zi hour on Chun Fen day of this year, totaling 60 days and 87.5 ke. The Main Position is Tai Jiao Mu (Excessive Wood), the Guest Qi is Tai Yang Shui (Taiyang Water), and the Middle sees Wood Yun. The Earthly Qi migrates, Dryness is about to leave, Cold begins, hibernating creatures hide again, water freezes, frost descends again, wind arrives. Yang Qi becomes dense internally, joints are stiff and fixed, waist pain (text missing), summer heat will rise, sores and ulcers appear inside and outside. It is suitable to regulate the Taiyang Guest Qi, tonify with bitter, drain with salty, firm with bitter, and moisten with pungent. Annual grain should be red (Dan), inter-grain should be millet (Ji), then Cold Qi cannot cause harm.

Second Qi: From Chun Fen day to Xu Zheng (9-11 PM) on Xiao Man day, totaling more than 60 days. The Main Position is Shao Zheng Huo (Minor Fire), the Guest Qi is Jue Yin Mu (Jueyin Wood), and the Middle sees Wood Yun. Qi and Yun are the same, this is called Si Tian Qi Zhu Shi (Governance by Si Tian Qi). Yang Qi spreads, wind moves, Spring Qi is upright, all things respond and flourish. Cold Qi arrives at times, people are harmonious. Diseases include strangury, eyes closing/redness, Qi stagnation with heat. It is suitable to regulate the Jueyin Guest Qi, tonify with pungent, drain with sour, and relax with sweet. Annual grain should be red, inter-grain should be wheat (text missing), then it causes no harm. Do not violate the warmth of the Si Qi.

Third Qi: From Hai Chu (9-11 PM) on Xiao Man day to Hai Chu on Da Shu day, totaling 60 days. The Main Position is Shao Zheng Huo (Minor Fire), the Guest Qi is Shao Yin Huo (Shaoyin Fire), and the Middle sees Wood Yun. Wood generates Fire, Fire occupies its position, Heavenly Administration spreads. People suffer from Qi reversal and heart pain, alternating cold and heat, cough and wheezing, red eyes. It is suitable to treat the Shaoyin Guest Qi, tonify with salty, drain with sweet, and astringe with sour (text missing). Annual grain should be red, inter-grain should be beans, then Heat Evil cannot cause harm.

Fourth Qi: From Hai Chu on Da Shu day to Shen Chu (3-5 PM) on Qiu Fen day, totaling more than 60 days. The Main Position is Tai Gong Tu (Great Earth), the Guest Qi is Tai Yin Tu (Taiyin Earth), and the Middle sees Wood Yun. Earth occupies its position, humidity is muggy. People suffer from cold and heat, dry throat, jaundice, nasal discharge/bleeding, fluid retention. It is suitable to regulate the Taiyin Guest Qi, tonify with sweet, drain with bitter, and astringe with sour (text missing). Annual grain should be yellow, inter-grain should be hemp seeds, then Dampness cannot cause harm.

Fifth Qi: From Shen Chu on Qiu Fen day to Wu Zheng (11 AM-1 PM) on Xiao Xue day, totaling 60 days. The Main Position is Shao Shang Jin (Minor Metal), the Guest Qi is Shao Yang Huo (Shaoyang Fire), and the Middle sees Wood Yun. Wood generates Fire, Feared Fire approaches, summer heat is abnormal. People are healthy, their disease is warm disease. It is suitable to treat the Shaoyang Guest Qi, tonify with salty, drain with sweet, and firm with bitter (text missing). Fire Qi cannot cause harm.

Final Qi: From Wu Zheng on Xiao Xue day to Chen Zheng (7-9 AM) on Da Han day, totaling 60 days. The Main Position is Tai Yu Shui (Great Water), the Guest Qi is Yang Ming Jin (Yangming Metal), and the Middle sees Wood Yun. Metal overcomes Wood, Dryness command acts, residual fire is internally blocked, swelling occurs above, foggy vision, diseases arise in skin and pores, internally lodge in the hypochondrium, connect downwards to the lower abdomen, severely causing cold in the middle. Earthly Qi is肃杀 (severe/cold). It is suitable to drain with pungent, and泄 (drain/descend) with bitter. Annual grain should be white, inter-grain should be broomcorn millet (Shu), then Dryness Qi does not cause harm.

If Heavenly Qi wins, Taiyang restores it; if Earthly Qi wins, Shaoyang restores it. Observe the arrival of Qi, and treat with warming methods. Do not assist the winning Qi, do not sponsor the restoring Qi. This is the general principle of treatment.
