It arises due to the deficiency of visceral Qi, with pathogenic factors of wind, cold, dampness, and coldness lurking in the intestines and stomach, combined with a preference for consuming raw foods.
Binglang San (Areca Nut Powder): Treats Ascaris lumbricoides (Roundworm), Taenia saginata (Cestoda), and Ascaris lumbricoides (Roundworm).
Ingredients: Areca Seed (Binglang) (crushed, 1.5 liang), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) (cut and dried), Dolichos Lablab Seed (Heshen) (each 2 fen), Cyathulae Officinalis Rhizoma (Guanzhong) (crushed), Omphalia Lapidescens (Leiwuan) (processed, each 0.5 liang), Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi) (lightly stir-fried), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Jupi) (soaked in water, white pith removed, dried, each 3 fen). The above herbs are crushed and sieved into a powder. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with date decoction on an empty stomach. Take again late at night. Gradually increase the dose.
Xihui Wan (Tin Ash Pill) (from *Zhizhi Fang*): Used to expel Taenia saginata (Cestoda) and various other worms.
Ingredients: Tin Ash (Xihui) (finely ground, 1 liang), Areca Seed (Binglang) (chicken-heart variety), Cyathulae Officinalis Rhizoma (Guanzhong) (each 0.5 liang), Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang) (2.5 qian), Calomelas (Qingfen), Minium (Huandan) (ground, each 2 qian). The above herbs are made into fine powder, mixed with flour paste boiled in wine and vinegar to form pills the size of lychee seeds. Take one pill each time, softened in rice washing water. Take after meals until dusk when not hungry or full, to expel Taenia saginata (Cestoda) (from *Bencao Fang*).
Ingredients: Tin Ash (Xihui) (1 liang), Momordica Cochinchinensis Seed (Mubiezi) (1 liang), Aloe (Luhui) (20 wen), Minium (Huandan) (10 wen), Calomelas (Qingfen) (10 wen). The above herbs are ground into powder, formed into pills using pork fat oil (size unspecified).
Formula to Expel Taenia saginata (Cestoda) (from *Bencao Fang*):
Ingredients: Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi) (10 wen), Areca Seed (Binglang) (chicken-heart variety, 2 pieces), Potentilla chinensis Root (Yelangya Cao) (0.5 liang), Omphalia Lapidescens (Leiwuan) (3 wen), Calomelas (Qingfen) (a little). The above herbs are ground into powder. Take 2 qian each time (administration method unclear).
Shiliugen San (Pomegranate Root Powder): Treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda).

Ingredients: Cibotii Rhizoma (Gouji), Cyathulae Officinalis Rhizoma (Guanzhong), White Myrobalan Fructus (Bai Wuyi), Vinegar-soaked Pomegranate Root (Cu Shiliugen) (crushed, each 1 liang). The above herbs are made into powder. Take 0.5 liang each time, decocted in one large cup of sour rice water (Jiangshui) (amount unclear).
Another Formula (from *Shenghui Fang*):
Ingredients: Potentilla chinensis Root (Yelangya), Bletilla Striata Tuber (Baiji), Ampelopsis Japonica Root (Bailian), White Myrobalan Fructus (Bai Wuyi) (each 1 liang). The above herbs are made into fine powder. Take 2 qian each day on an empty stomach, mixed with warm wine.
Xiangfu Wan (also known as Huachong Wan): Treats Gourd Worm (likely referring to a type of tapeworm), also treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda), and various other worms.
Ingredients: Aucklandiae Radix (Muxiang) (ground, 1 fen), Aconitum Carmichaelii Lateral Root (Fuzi) (raw, skin and navel removed, ground), Sulfur (Liuhuang) (ground, each 0.5 liang). First, use 0.5 liang of Lithargyrum (Miduoseng) powder, add strong vinegar and boil into a thick consistency, adding more strong vinegar is ideal, then form into pills.
Bailian San (Ampelopsis Japonica Root Powder) (from *Zhouhou Fang*): Treats disease caused by Taenia saginata (Cestoda). Causes dull eyes and weakness in legs and knees.
Ingredients: Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi) (6 fen), Potentilla chinensis Root (Yelangya) (4 fen), Ampelopsis Japonica Root (Bailian) (2 fen). Process and sieve the above herbs. Soak in 2 he of vinegar (Ku Jiu) overnight. Take on an empty stomach the next morning. Another method: take 2 zhan with sour rice water.
Treatment for Taenia saginata (Cestoda) (from Desheng Tang):
Ingredients: Tin Sand (Xisha) (if silver-mud grade tin sand is unavailable, substitute with Minium/Huandan, mix with oil to form pills the size of Chinese quince seeds). Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi), Areca Seed (Binglang) (these two equal parts, ground into powder). Decoct strongly (administration unclear). Stone (text error/missing).
Binglang San (also known as Cunbai Chong Yinzi): Treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda).
Ingredients: Pomegranate Root (Shiliugen) (crushed), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Jupi) (soaked in water, white pith removed, dried), Morus Alba Root Bark (Sanggen Baipi) (each 1 liang). Finely crush the above, divide into three doses. Each dose takes one bowl of water (decocted). Re-decoct.
Shiliugen Tang (Pomegranate Root Decoction): Treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda). Causes emaciation.
Ingredients: Vinegar-soaked eastern-growing Pomegranate Root (Cu Shiliugen) (one large handful, crushed), Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi) (lightly stir-fried, 2 liang), Pharbitidis Semen (Qianniuzi) (lightly stir-fried, separately ground into powder, 0.5 liang). Coarsely crush the first two herbs (decocted). Ten miles (text error/unclear).
Jupi Wan (Tangerine Peel Pill): Treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda).
Ingredients: Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chen Jupi) (soaked in water, white pith removed, dried, 2 liang), Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi Ren) (stir-fried), Potentilla chinensis Root (Yelangya) (tender shoots removed, crushed, each 1.5 liang). The above herbs are ground into powder, mixed with refined honey to form pills.
Binglang Tang (Areca Nut Decoction): Treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda).
Ingredients: Areca Seed (Binglang) (crushed, 14 pieces), Allii Macrostemii Bulbus (Xiebai) (finely cut, approx. 1 zhan), Fermented Soybean (Yanchi) (approx. 1 zhan). First, coarsely crush and sieve the Areca Seed, divide with other ingredients (decocted). Xing Liu (text error/unclear).
Shuiyin Wan (Mercury Pill): Treats Taenia saginata (Cestoda).

Ingredients: Vinegar-soaked Pomegranate Root (Cu Shiliugen) (one handful), Melia Azedarach Bark (Lianpi) (1 liang), Areca Seed (Binglang) (3 pieces, crushed into powder). Finely crush all except the Areca powder. Use three cups of water (decocted). Zhi (text missing).
Permanent Cure for Taenia saginata Causing Watery Diarrhea:
Ingredients: Torreyae Seed (Feizi), Areca Seed (Binglang), Myrobalan Fructus (Wuyi) (equal parts). Make into powder. Take 2 qian with warm wine. First eat roasted beef jerky, then take the medicine.
Treatment for Taenia saginata (Cestoda) to dissolve it into water (from *Shiquan Liangfang*):
Ingredients: Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma (Bixie) (1 liang, crushed), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao) (3 liang, honey-fried, crushed, slightly reddened), Cibotii Rhizoma (Gouji) (3 liang). Make into fine powder. Take 2 qian before meals, mixed with porridge drink.
