Taiyin Damp-Soil governs the Heaven (Si Tian), and Taiyang Cold-Water resides in the Earth (Zai Quan). The central movement is Shaogong Earth Movement. The year's Earth Qi is insufficient. Its transformation is identical to Zhenggong (Normal/Peaceful State). Shaogong is superimposed by Taiyin.
Reaching a state of peace. Transformation is abundant. Corresponding to insects. It nourishes flesh. Its administration is solemn. Arising at times. Zhaxing (Saturn). Fire becomes... The transformation of Qi... Identical. Evil toxins do not arise.
In this year, Earth Qi is above, Water Qi is below. Earth overcomes Water. Heavenly Qi is full, Earthly Qi is deficient. One should take the source of transformation. If the year encounters Taiyi Tianfu, its Qi reaches peace.
Not... True... Heat...
Before the middle of the year, its administration is damp.
After the middle of the year, its command is cold.
First Qi: From Hai Chu on the day of Great Cold in the Wuwu year to You Chu on the day of Spring Equinox in this year, totaling sixty days and eighty-seven and a half ke. The main position is Shaojiao Wood. Guest Qi is relaxed and comfortable; Wind-Dampness combats each other, rain comes late. People suffer from blood overflow, tendon network stiffness, joint disadvantage, heavy body, and tendon flaccidity. It is suitable to regulate the Guest of Jueyin with Pungent flavor to tonify, Sour flavor to drain, and Sweet flavor to relax. Year grain should be black [grain], inter-grain should be rice, so wind does not become evil.
Second Qi: From You Zheng on the day of Spring Equinox to Wei Zheng on the day of Grain Full, totaling sixty-plus days. The main position is Taizheng Fire. Guest Qi is Shaoyin Minister Fire. Central Earth Movement is seen. Major Fire is correct, objects receive transformation. People are harmonious. However, warm epidemics prevail, affecting near and far equally. Damp steaming combats each other, rain descends on time. It is suitable to regulate the Guest of Shaoyin with Salty flavor to tonify, Sweet flavor to drain, and Sour flavor to gather. Year grain should be black [grain], inter-grain should be beans, so heat does not become evil.
Third Qi: From Shen Chu on the day of Grain Full to Wu Chu on the day of Great Heat, totaling sixty-plus days. The main position is Taizheng Fire. Guest Qi is Taiyin Damp-Soil. Central Earth Movement is seen. Qi and movement match and proceed as peaceful Qi. Heavenly administration spreads. Damp Qi descends, Earthly Qi migrates. Rain descends on time, Cold follows. Feeling Cold-Dampness, people suffer from heavy body, edema, chest and abdominal fullness. It is suitable to regulate the Guest of Taiyin with Sweet flavor to tonify, Bitter flavor to drain, and Sweet flavor to relax. Year grain should be black [grain], inter-grain should be sesame, so dampness does not become evil. In this Qi, do not violate the Si Qi (Governing Qi).
Fourth Qi: From Wu Zheng on the day of Great Heat to Chen Zheng on the day of Autumn Equinox, totaling sixty-plus days. The main position is Shaogong Earth. Guest Qi is Shaoyang Minister Fire. Central Earth Movement is seen. Year movement obtains position, Minister Fire occupies it. Weifire (Shaoyang Minister Fire) arrives, humid steaming transforms. Earth Qi rises, Heavenly Qi is blocked. Cold wind morning and evening combats steaming heat. Grass and trees condense smoke, Damp transformation does not flow, so White Dew distributes yin, completing the Autumn command. People suffer from intersticial heat, sudden blood overflow, malaria, heart and abdominal fullness, hot distension, and even swelling. It is suitable to regulate the Guest of Shaoyang with Salty flavor to tonify, Sweet flavor to drain, and Salty flavor to firm. Year grain should be black [grain], inter-grain should be beans, so fire does not become evil.
Fifth Qi: From Si Chu on the day of Autumn Equinox to Mao Chu on the day of Minor Snow, totaling sixty-plus days. The main position is Taisang Metal. Guest Qi is Yangming Dry-Metal. Central Earth Movement is seen. Earth generates Metal, Metal obtains position. Severe command has acted. Cold Dew descends, frost and snow descend early. Grass and trees yellow and fall. Cold Qi reaches the body. Gentlemen should be meticulous. People suffer from skin and interstitial diseases. It is suitable to regulate the Guest of Yangming with Sour flavor to tonify, Pungent flavor to drain, and Bitter flavor to discharge. Year grain should be black [grain], inter-grain should be broomcorn millet, so dryness does not become evil.
Final Qi: From Mao Zheng on the day of Minor Snow to Chou Zheng on the day of Great Cold, totaling sixty-plus days. The main position is Shaoyu Water. Guest Qi is Taiyang Cold-Water. Central Earth Movement is seen. Water occupies its position, Damp-Soil combines with Qi. Cold rises greatly, Damp transforms greatly. Frost accumulates, Yin congeals. Water hardens into ice, Sunlight does not govern. Feeling Cold, patients suffer from joint rigidity and waist pain. Cold-Damp persists at the Qi intersection causing disease. It is suitable to regulate the Guest of Taiyang with Bitter flavor to tonify, Salty flavor to drain, Bitter flavor to firm, and Pungent flavor to moisten. Year grain should be black [grain], inter-grain should be jiji (millet), so cold does not become evil.
This is the transformation of the Six Qi. The transformation of Qi intersection involves water depression in the year; treatment should suppress it. All follow the winning Qi, pacify the suppressed Qi, regardless of number, aiming for balance. This is its way.
