The people suffer from jue heart pain, hematemesis, bloody diarrhea, rhinorrhea, epistaxis, frequent sadness, dizziness, and sudden collapse. The movement resembles fierce fire flames, violent rain turns to hail. Chest and abdomen are full, hands and feet are hot, elbows are contracted, axillae are swollen, the heart palpitates violently, chest, hypochondrium, and stomach region are uneasy, face is red, eyes are yellow, frequent belching, throat is dry. In severe cases, complexion turns dark, thirst with desire to drink. The disease originates in the Heart. Diagnosis is at the pulse of Shenmen (HT7) on the hand. The treatment principle should be to level with Pungent-Hot herbs, assist with Sweet-Bitter herbs, and drain with Salty herbs.

After the midpoint of the year, the earthly qi is governed by Taiyin. If Dampness invades internally, then dust obscures, valleys are dim, Yellow color appears reversed with Black, at the junction of Extreme Yin. The people suffer from fluid accumulation. Heavenly qi is clean, earthly qi is bright, Yang qi follows Yin for governance and transformation. Dryness exercises its administration, objects mature under its control, Gathering Qi spreads profusely, but transformation does not complete. Its qi is weakened, its administration is solemn, its command is sharp and cutting, its virtue is misty dew desolate, its movement is violent fracture and ulcerative infectious diseases. Its disease is wheezing and panting, chest oppression requiring upright breathing.

In severe cases, wheezing, coughing, and reverse qi, shoulder, connecting thigh, knee, thigh bone, foot all suffer disease. Central Metal movement is seen. Water overcomes Fire, Heavenly administration spreads, Cold acts, Rain descends. The people suffer from Cold, counteracting with internal Heat, carbuncles, dysentery, heart heat, and mental confusion.
