After the administration of diaphoresis (sweating), emesis, or purgation for a seasonal epidemic disease, both the exterior and interior are deficient. The pathogenic toxic qi has not yet dissipated. Heat and irritability attack the Heart, Spleen, and Upper Jiao. Therefore, sores arise in the mouth and tongue.
