夫热病表虚里实。热毒瓦斯多发此疮。其疮色白或赤。发于皮肤。头作浆或带白脓者。其
毒轻。有黑紫色作根。隐隐在肌肉里。其毒重。甚者内五七窍。皆有疮形如豌豆。故以为名
也。
方
大黄散（出圣惠方）治热病。胃中热毒。生 疮如豌豆。
川大黄（二两锉碎微炒） 黄连（一两半去须） 川升麻（一两） 黄芩 漏芦（去芦
头） 玄
参甘草（炙微赤锉各三分） 上为散。每服五钱。以水一大盏。煎至五分。去滓。不计时
候。
温服之。
蓝叶散（出圣惠方）治热病。热毒盛 疮出。头黑者为难治。

Heat disease manifests as exterior deficiency and interior excess. The qi of heat-toxin frequently causes this type of sore. If the sore is white or red in color, located on the skin surface, with a head forming pus or containing white purulent material, the toxin is mild. If the root of the sore appears blackish-purple and lies hidden within the muscle layer, the toxin is severe. In extreme cases, it may penetrate the five orifices of the five zang organs, presenting sores resembling peas, hence the name "pea sore."
Prescriptions
Dahuang San (Cassia Decoction Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats heat disease where heat-toxin in the stomach generates sores resembling peas.
Rhizoma et Radix Rhei (2 liang, crushed and slightly stir-fried), Fructus Coptidis (1.5 liang, remove stamens), Radix Cimicifugae (1 liang), Radix Scutellariae, Herba Agrimoniae (remove rhizome), Radix Scrophulariae, Radix Glycyrrhzae (roasted until slightly reddish, crushed, each 3 qian). Grind all into a powder. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1 large cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.5 cup, filter dregs, and take warm at any time.
Lanye San (Isatis Leaf Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats heat disease where excessive heat-toxin causes sores to erupt; those with black heads are difficult to treat.
Folium Isatidis (1 liang), Cornu Rhinocerotis (1.5 liang), Radix Aucklandiae (1 fen), Radix Cimicifugae (1.5 liang), Radix Scrophulariae, Herba Siegesbeckiae (each 1 liang), Radix Glycyrrhzae (0.5 liang, roasted until slightly reddish, crushed). Grind all into a powder. Take 5 qian per dose. Add 1 large cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.5 cup, filter dregs, and take warm at any time.
Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats heat disease with erupting sores, accompanied by mental restlessness and intense heat.
Cornu Rhinocerotis, Radix Cimicifugae, Radix Aucklandiae, Radix Lithospermi, Radix Ophiopogonis (remove heart), Herba Agrimoniae (remove rhizome, each 1 liang), Moschus (1 qian, ground), Radix Glycyrrhzae (0.5 liang, roasted until slightly reddish, crushed). Grind all into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add 1 medium cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.6 cup, filter dregs, and take warm at any time.
Digupi San (Morus Root Bark Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats heat disease generating sores, with mental agitation and irritability.
Cortex Morae, Radix Scutellariae, Fructus Coptidis (remove stamens), Rhizoma et Radix Rhei (crushed and slightly stir-fried), Radix Aucklandiae, Cornu Saigae Tataricae (each 1 liang), Radix Glycyrrhzae (0.5 liang, roasted until slightly reddish, crushed). Grind all into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add 1 medium cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.6 cup, filter dregs, and take warm at any time.
Zhizi Yinzi (Gardenia Drink, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats heat disease generating sores resembling peas.
Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (1 liang), Herba Siegesbeckiae, Caulis Akebiae (crushed), Folium Bambusae Amarae, Radix Glycyrrhzae (roasted until slightly reddish, crushed, each 0.5 liang), Semen Sojae Preparatum (1 he), Radix Scutellariae (1 liang). Finely crush all ingredients. Take 0.5 liang per dose. Add 1 large cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.5 cup, filter dregs, and take warm at any time.

Alumen (2 liang), Radix Bupleuri (remove seedlings), Caulis Polygoni Cuspidati (crushed), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (each 1 liang), Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (3 fen), Radix Anemarrhenae, Cornu Rhinocerotis, Radix Glycyrrhzae (roasted until slightly reddish, crushed, each 0.5 liang). Grind all into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add 1 medium cup of water, decoct until reduced to 0.6 cup, filter dregs, and take warm at any time.
Fadu Liqi Muxiang San (Wood Fragrance Powder for Detoxification and Regulating Qi, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats heat disease causing sores resembling peas.
Radix Aucklandiae (1 fen), Semen Sojae Preparatum (1 he), Caulis Allii Fistulosi (2 stalks), Herba Ephedrae (0.5 liang, remove roots and joints), Folium Menthae Haplocalycis Dryum (1 fen). Finely crush all ingredients. Add 1.5 large cups of water, decoct until reduced to 1 cup, filter dregs, divide into two doses, and take warm at any time. Cover with clothing to induce sweating.

Folium Bambusae Amarae, Frumentum (each 2 liang), Alumen (3 liang, crushed). Add 3 large cups of water, decoct until reduced to 1.5 cups, filter dregs, divide into three doses, and take warm at any time.
Another prescription (From *Shenghui Fang*)
Coriandri Fructus (one handful, finely chopped), Radix Rehmanniae Recens (3 liang, finely chopped). Mix together, pound, and squeeze out the juice. Take in one dose on an empty stomach.
Another prescription (From *Shenghui Fang*)
Take 2 liang of Radix Lithospermi, including the roots, and finely crush them. Add 2 large cups of water, decoct until reduced to 1 cup, filter dregs, divide into two doses, and take warm at any time.
