Lice Medicine: *Stemona Radix* (Bai Bu), *Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix* (Qin Jiao), *Portulacae Herba* (Ma Chi Cao). Pound these three herbs together in one place. Each time, take a pinch of the powder and apply it to undergarments. One will not be bitten by lice even in old age.

Another prescription: To treat adults and children with lice all over their heads and bodies.
Use *Veratrum Nigrum Rhizoma* (Li Lu) 1 liang, *Kaempferia Galanga Rhizome* (San Nai Zi) 1 liang, grind into powder. Sprinkle on the head, and the lice will naturally fall off. Place inside undergarments, mix into a paste; lice on clothes and pants will also naturally disappear.

Method for Smoking Clothes to Remove Lice: Use *Stemona Radix* (Bai Bu) and *Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix* (Qin Jiao), each 1 liang, grind into powder. Smoke the clothes; the lice will naturally fall off.

Body Lice Prescription: Mix *Hydrargyrum* (Shui Yin) with *Psoraleae Fructus* (He Shi) powder, rub into a ball using silk fabric, and tie it to clothing; the lice will naturally fall off.

Repelling Lice: Dry *Centipedae Herba* (Wu Gong Ping) and burn it to produce smoke for fumigation, then the lice are removed. Wash beds and mats thoroughly with clear salt water to eradicate them completely.

Treatment for Removing Lice: Decoct *Stemona Radix* (Bai Bu Gen) as a soup to wash lice off cattle and dogs.

Treatment for Killing Nit and Lice: Use *Niu Bian Tai Chang* (a plant stored in a vessel named *Bian Te*; currently, a variety from Luzhou called *Bian Te* grows in June and bears fruit in August). Harvest its roots, pound into powder, and use mixed with oil to kill.

Treatment for Head Lice: Grind *Veratrum Nigrum Rhizoma* (Li Lu) into fine powder, apply to the hair. After one night, the lice will dry up, die, and fall off naturally.

Head Lice Prescription: Mix *Calomelas* (Qing Fen) with sesame oil, and apply to the hair.

Prescription for Driving Away Bed Bugs: Use *Angelica Pubescens Radix* (Du Huo) powder, amount unspecified, spread on bed mattresses and mats to repel them.

Another Prescription: Soak paper in tung oil, make oil hats, hang them on clothes racks, and hang them all around the room (left, right, top, bottom). The lice will naturally disappear.

Another Prescription: Use *Realgar* (Xiong Huang) 1 liang, *Arsenic Trioxide* (Xin) 2 qian, grind into fine powder and mix evenly. Burn wood residue to create mosquito-like smoke; the odor repels lice. Burn and fumigate occasionally.

Another Prescription: Decoct *Vitriolum Rubrum* (Lv Fan) in water, mix with flour paste, and apply to walls. Then, sweep beds, stools, and pits with water decocted from *Vitriolum Rubrum* (Lv Fan).

Another Prescription: *Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma* (Cang Zhu) 4 liang, *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Dang Gui) 2 liang, *Mucorae Semen* (Mu Bie Zi) 3 liang, *Realgar* (Xiong Huang) 1.5 liang. Grind all into fine powder. Make pills with honey, size like a bullet.

Treatment for Lice: For people who have many lice, approaching winter, buy mercury worth 100 wen, and 1 qian of aged tea. Mix with saliva in the palm of the hand. Make cotton into a rope shape, apply evenly.
