The manifestations of Wind invading the Stomach include: excessive sweating and aversion to wind in the neck region, inability to swallow food and drink, obstruction and blockage in the chest and diaphragm, frequent abdominal distension, worsening of distension when clothing is insufficient against cold, and diarrhea after consuming cold foods. On examination, the patient appears emaciated and exhibits aversion to wind.
Weifeng Tang (Gastrointestinal Wind Decoction) (from *Jisheng Bacuifang*): Treats deficiency-Wind syndromes. Symptoms include preserved appetite but numbness of the limbs, stiffness and spasms of the jaw, and tremors within the eyes. If Wind resides in the Stomach, facial edema may occur.
Ingredients: Xiangbaizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, 1.2 qian), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma, 2 qian), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, 1 qian), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 1 qian), Zhigancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata, 1.5 qian), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, 0.3 qian), Guishen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 1 qian), Caodoukou (Cardamomi Fructus Rotundus, size of a bean). Divide into two doses. For each dose, decoct with one large cup of water, and take warm.
Wenzhong Houpo Tang (Middle-Warming Magnolia Bark Decoction) (from *Shengji Zonglu*): Treats long-standing Wind invading the intestines and stomach. Symptoms include abdominal distension and diarrhea.
