[Supplementary Discussion]
The Spleen is located in the central region of the body, akin to a central province. It is primarily responsible for the digestion and transformation of food and fluids (Fu Hua Shui Gu), thereby nourishing all Zang-Fu organs. If Spleen Qi is deficient and Cold Qi arises internally, clashing with the healthy Qi, it causes empty rumbling within the abdomen. In severe cases, abdominal pain occurs, radiating downwards.
Chen Ju Pi Tang (Tangerine Peel Decoction): Treats deficiency-cold of the Spleen organ, where pathogenic factors and healthy Qi clash, causing empty rumbling within the abdomen. Also treats Yin and Yang Er Du Shang Han (Two Poisons Cold Damage).
Ingredients: Chen Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, soaked in hot water, white pith removed, stir-fried with bran), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, rough bark removed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, pith removed, stir-fried with bran), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Helile (Terminaliae Chebulae Fructus, roasted), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix).
