Wherever the shadow or urine of a *Qu Sou* (a type of insect, commonly known as "bed-wetting bug") touches a person's body, it causes them to develop sores. The condition manifests as sudden pain in a specific area of the body, feeling like being pricked by thorns, similar to a venomous insect bite. Subsequently, small blisters appear, clustering together resembling the fruit of the cornelian cherry (*Cornus officinalis*). The surrounding skin becomes red, while the center contains white pus resembling millet grains. This also causes tightness and tension in the skin and muscles, accompanied by aversion to cold and high fever throughout the body. In severe cases, the sores may spread to the abdomen.
Baishan Formula
Treatment for *Qu Sou* urine sores.
Apply a mixture of egg white and finely powdered Baishan (white mineral powder) to the affected area. If the sore spreads diffusely, grind fresh garlic into a paste, mix with ink, and apply.
Chixiaodou San (Red Bean Powder) (From *Qianjin Fang*)
Treats *Qu Sou* urine sores and various malignant sores.
Take half a jin (approx. 500g) of cut bark from the Chinese Scholar Tree (*Sophora japonica*), soak it in two sheng (approx. 400ml) of vinegar for half a day. Scrape the surface of the sore and wash it with this solution five to six times daily. Afterwards, grind red beans (*Vigna angularis*) into powder and apply using vinegar as a binder.
Gancao Application (Licorice Application)
Treatment for *Qu Sou* urine sores.
Grind one liang (approx. 30g) of Licorice Root (*Gan Cao*, *Glycyrrhizae Radix*) into powder, mix with juice from Chinese Chive (*Jiu Cai*, *Allii Tuberosi Rhizoma et Bulbus*), and apply to the lesion.
Jizi Gao (Egg White Ointment) (From *Zhizhi Fang*)
Treats *Qu Sou* (also known as eight-legged bug), which hides in walls and sprays urine on people, causing widespread sores resembling scalds or burns.
Burn feathers from a black chicken to ash, mix with egg white, and apply. Another method suggests mixing with sesame oil. Since chickens consume hundred insects, they are capable of treating this condition. Alternatively, swallow feces can be mixed with water and applied.
Formula for Treating *Qu Sou* Urine (From *Qianjin Fang*)
Burn sheep whiskers to ash, mix with lard rendered in the twelfth lunar month, and apply as a seal/poultice.

Apply pounded fermented soybeans (*Dou Chi*, *Sojae Semen Preparatum*) as a poultice.

Grind calcined deer horn (*Lujiao*, *Cervi Cornu Degelatinatum*) into powder, mix with vinegar, and apply to the sore. If there is exudate, burn an old mat made of cattail reeds found by the roadside and apply the ash. Another method uses vinegar for mixing. Another uses oil for mixing.

Chew barley thoroughly and apply as a poultice, three times daily.

Burn branches and bark of the Chinaberry tree (*Lianmu*, *Meliae Cortex*) to ash and grind into powder. If the sore is wet, apply dry powder; if dry, mix with vinegar. It can also be mixed with lard.
Zaojia Zhi Formula (Soap Pod Lipid) (From *Shenghui Fang*)
Treats chronic *Qu Sou* urine sores that do not heal.
Roast pig snout soap pods (*Zhu Ya Zao Jia*, *Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus*) until lipid/oil exudes. Apply the hot lipid to the affected area.
Treatment for *Qu Sou* Toxicity (From *Haishang Mingfang*)
Roast pig snout soap pods until charred, mix with water from a silkworm nest (*Mingling Ke*, *Bombyx Coccum*), and apply.
Treatment for *Qu Sou* Urine Sores (From *Zhouhou Fang*)
Boil three sheng of salt in ten dou (approx. 10 liters) of water until reduced to six sheng. Soak the sore in this saline solution using cotton cloth.
