Various sores and swellings are caused by wind pathogens and heat toxins. If exposed to cold wind and cold again, cold qi enters the sore, causing blood stasis and poor circulation. Consequently, the sore often discharges pus and water, and the patient loses sensation of pain and itching. Over time, the sore fails to heal.
