The *Neijing* (Inner Canon) states that dampness injures the flesh. This is because the Spleen governs the muscles, and the muscles dislike dampness. Before various sores heal, if they are exposed to water or dampness, water-toxin will manifest causing swelling, severe pain, and continuous pus discharge. This constitutes dampness injuring the muscles. The treatment should involve applying external medicines to drain the water completely, allowing the muscles to return to a warm and balanced state, thereby healing the sore.
Prescriptions
**Luafa Xun Fang (Hair Fumigation Formula)**: Treats water-toxin in various sores. If wind-stroke causes opisthotonos (backward arching of the body), or if swelling spreads into the armpit, it can be fatal.
Ingredients: Loose hair (Luanfa), Chicken manure (Jifen, 2 liang), Hemp seeds (Damaizi, 3 liang), Black beans (Heidou, 3 liang), Blue cloth (Qingbu, 1 chi length, soaked in 2 liang of melted wax).

Usage: Pound into powder, form into cakes, dry thoroughly, and grind into fine powder. Sprinkle on the sore opening to extract toxic water until it stops.
**Qiandan San (Lead Tetroxide Powder)**: Treats swelling and non-healing ulceration after traumatic injury with water invasion.
Ingredients: Lead tetroxide (Qiandan), Arca shell powder (Gefen, equal parts).
Usage: Stir-fry together until the color changes. Sprinkle on the sore opening to drain water.
**Wumei San (Dark Plum Powder)**: Treats swelling and pain in various sores due to water-toxin.
