牡蛎散（出存仁方）治瘰 。
牡蛎（三两黄泥固济 白取为度用） 甘草（炙锉一两） 上为散。每服二钱匕。空心

清下。日三服。仍用皂荚一挺去皮。分作两截。一截使米醋半盏刷炙。以醋干为度。一截焙
干。乌头二枚。一炮一枚生。炒糯米三十粒。同为末。再用醋半盏。暖动和匀。成膏贴之。
治鼠 。
猫儿头（一个烧炙） 麝香（一钱研） 上清油敷之。
治 生于头项上交接。名蛇盘 。宜早治之。一名海菜丸。（出危氏方）
海藻菜（荞麦炒去壳） 白僵蚕（微炒去丝嘴） 上等分为细末。海藻菜旋研筛。汤泡
白梅。
用泡汤为丸。每服六七十丸。食后临卧米饮送下。其毒自大便去。若与淡菜连服尤好。盖淡
菜生于藻上。亦治此病。忌豆腐、鸡、羊、酒、面。日五六服。
治诸 。（出本事方）
密陀僧（十文研） 青矾（五文烧） 上为末。干掺。更用好面糊搜药作奄贴之。候疮
干。
更上药三次五次。然后用白芨、黄柏二味。水调作贴之。
已验方（出危氏方）治瘰 已作者。
乌鸡子（七个拌匀） 斑蝥（四十九个去头翅足） 上每乌鸡子一个。去顶。用箸搅匀
入。
斑蝥七粒。以纸糊盖。于饭上蒸熟。去斑蝥食鸡子。每食一个。煎生料五积散咽下。服不过
四五次。已破者生肌。未破者消散。方内云勿去斑蝥。以小利下毒物为度。大胜济生三圣散
杨氏四味方。非惟人不敢服。亦免小便秘痛之忧。服利后。尚有腹痛。冷水调青靛。或煎黄
连水解之。又方宜法制皂角子服之。宜牡蛎丸。
桑白皮汤（出圣济总录）治瘰 肝中有根。

逐邪散（出圣济总录）治瘰 。瘰 者。由风邪毒瓦斯客于肌肉。随虚处毒停结
为疮。如梅李大小。两三相连。皮肉发热。是久则溃脓。连属而生。久不愈则为瘰 。
不以远年近日为效。

少许捣末。并好茶相和煎服。一方慢火炒焦色。入朱砂半两研。大人五更米饮调下一钱。良
久腹痛泻出根。如枣核大。便瘥。小儿十五以下。只可服半钱。
神效丸（出德生堂）治瘰 。
牡蛎（烧灰为末） 香白芷（各四两） 甘草节（二两） 上为细末。糊为丸如桐子大。

五七十丸。食后酒下。茶清亦可。为末酒调服。下亦可。
玉饼子（出儒门事亲）治瘰 一切恶疮软疖。
用白胶一两。瓷器内熔开。去滓。再于瓷器内熔开后。用蓖麻子六十四个作泥。入胶内
搅。入小油半匙头。箸点水中试硬软添减胶油。如得所量疮大小。以绯帛摊膏药贴。一膏药
可治三五疖。
治瘰 肿硬痛。经久不瘥者。（出千金方）
用故鞋内毡替烧灰。五匕和酒一升。平日向日服。强之行。须臾吐出恶物愈。

用石槲叶新旧皆可。用盐少许。同槲叶嚼烂。以口噙盐水洗疮口净。次将嚼烂叶贴疮口。
未破。各再根据前法用。如患 子。疮口湿者。亦用盐少许嚼烂槲叶。贴在疮口。干者亦可贴。
蜗牛散（出危氏方）治 溃与未溃皆可贴。
用蜗牛不拘多少。以竹索穿尾上晒干。烧灰存性为末。入轻粉少许。猪髓调。用纸花量
疮大小贴之。一方取七个。去肉。入丁香七枚于壳内。烧存性。仍将肉同研成膏。用棉花贴
上。
瘰 方。
用苦参四两为末。生牛膝和丸如桐子大。食后暖水下十丸。日三。
蓖麻法（出卫生家宝方）
用蓖麻子炒熟。旋剥取仁。自初一吃一个。二日二个。增至三五日。吃十个。十五六日
吃十四个。至月末三十日只吃一个。空心时下。如是服一月足。第二月不拘时候。及不拘数
目。如吃果子之类。或三或五或七或十。两月如此即愈。此药服过。一生不可食豆腐。则胀
杀人。经验方陈氏云。先兄年岁害 。时先公为杭州税官。刀镊工献此方。初未信之。偶出
北关。遇客。二舟相差而过。来者问其人所苦 子如何。往者云。食蓖麻子而愈。归即制而
服之。两月而瘥。一法用面麸炒去壳。瓷器收。每服三十枚。日三服。三次去其病根。一方。
已破者研细。醋调成膏贴之。有奇效。
玉屑妙灵散（出存仁方）治瘰 。
用桂府滑石二两为末。每服二钱。米饮调下。经验方陈氏云。余在书局见吴伯骏。忧其
长女之病日侵。楼大防访其所亲赵司户之母韩氏。自言幼子年十一岁。患此。项上可见者有
七十枚。或授此方。且云是心包络中热。须用药自小便出。服觉小便涩急。遂以意用琥珀研
细浓煎。灯心汤下。良久。旋下其物正如剥了皮葡萄肉。前后下十七枚。而疮尽平复。其子
今为临安参军。真神方也。吴女得此方遂愈。余亲见其事。近小儿亦患此。用之立愈。小儿
苦此疮。始终两年。经医不知其几。终不能去。因服此药。旬日而愈。后合此药施人。愈者
十余人。挟大圣之名。真不虚传。
治瘰 不问有头无头者。（出仁存方）
用大蜘蛛五个晒干。细研。酥调如面脂。日度二敷之用。结网蜘蛛。可用。别的不宜用。

用蝙蝠去肠胃。新瓦上焙干为末。未破者水调摊纸上贴。已破。干糁之。
烧灰散（出危氏方）治 。
经效方 治瘰 年久不愈者。（出危氏方）
用不蛀皂角子一百粒。米醋一升。 砂二钱。同煮醋尽。炒令酥。看所生 子多少。若
生一个。即每服一个。生十个。即服十个。细嚼米饮汤下。史氏小儿方。酒煮夜卧含化三粒。
名破 丹。博济方用酒浸三日。文武火熬尽为度。每服夜含化三粒。与济生方皂角子丸相似。
圣济总录有硼砂。虚弱老人休服。
皂角散（出危氏方）
用不蛀皂角不拘多少。每三十条作一束。以棕榈裹之。缚定。于溷 内浸一月。取出。
却于长流水内再浸一月。死水不能浣洗。不可用。去棕榈晒干为末。皂角末一两入麝香半钱。
全蝎七个。研细匀。一服一二钱。酒或汤饮调下。不过三次愈。
治瘰 。（出瑞竹堂）
用干姜不拘多少为末。以生姜自然汁打面糊和作剂子。或丹为衣。每日一次。随疮大小
入药。在内追脓尽生肉为度。以疮口合则已。疮口不敛。用大黄末、葱白汁调搽即愈。乃日
服十宣内托散二服。疮疼痛不破者。用野菊根捣烂煎酒服。仍将用过菊根为末贴疮自消。不
消。疮口破。根据煎药剂追脓生肉敛口神效。
治瘰 疮方。
用全蝎四十丸。将牡蛎灰同桑柴灰先用炭火于上。前灰将安一窝。却把蝎放内埋。用白
纸一张铺灰上。用有黑点糯米二十四粒于纸上。放一碗覆之。蒸米黄取出。见疮放一粒。即
自愈。
凡人患瘰 口破者。
活鲫鱼一枚。用本人小水浸死。去肠肚。用斑蝥七个。去头足等。入鱼肚中。烧 成灰。
入麝香少许在内。即于疮口干糁。再用黑膏贴之。忌发物。
治 子疮。
斑蝥一两。糯米一升炒熟。去头翅。取薄荷叶、连翘、荆芥穗、各三两为末。用乌鸡子
清同
治 子疮。
用鲫鱼一个。去肠不去鳞。用蓖麻仁一两捣如泥。装入鱼肚内。用妇人护领油纸包定。
文武火内煨至焦。去纸再用文武火煨。只至成灰鱼。后煨成末。每服三钱。酒一盏调。澄清。
五更不睡。下恶物。
又方
用大河 鱼子不拘多少。用 叶包裹阴干为末。如未破者干糁。
治 子疮。
用松香不拘多少。熔成汁。新绵滤去入水。九换水。熔滤取出碾细。每服二钱。投雨
前茶芽煎汤调下。食后卧日进三服。
治瘰 不问破与未破。用之神效。
用旧破靴底洗净晒干烧灰。一两入轻粉三钱。同乳香、香油调和。如疮已破。出脓水。
不须油调。只干敷愈止。
又方
用黄颡鱼破开。入蓖麻子二三十个在肚内。以绵缚定。于厕坑内放。冬三月。春秋二月。
夏一月。取出。洗净。用黄泥固济。文武火煨带性。烂研末。香油调数次。又治滕疮。
治盘蛇 疮。
用黄鸭黄。又谓金条鱼一个。用线缚定。放粪缸内。过夜取出。瓦上焙干为末。好香油
调敷。如不干。去油敷。
治 已破未破者皆可服。
用黄鼠子一个全者。入在瓶内。盐固济瓶头。用火 过熟。取出为细末。每服二钱。用
无灰酒调下。
治诸瘰 方。
用薄纸剪成四片。各长四寸。以水银、腻粉各二钱。鸡子一枚。破之。取白和腻粉等摊
在四方纸上。看药多少。摊得若干片数。仍于瓷盘中摊之。药匀为度。于日内晒。不得见火。
候八九分干。和纸揭起。细剪成桐子大。每片丸作五十丸。皂角子大。煎汤温服三丸。日三
。空心日午卧服之。第三日。下鳖卵如烂杏小核之形者。仍是病源不动气。
治鼠瘰 。（出本事方）
用刺 皮瓦上燥研为末。入水银粉干敷。
治漏疮。（出本事方）
用蛇床子不拘多少。瓦上焙干为末。纸捻搦药入疮口。
治瘰 肿毒痛。
用粟生嚼罨之。

用铅三两。铁器中熬之。久之当有脚如黑灰。取此灰和脂涂 上。仍以旧帛贴之。数数
去帛拭恶汁。又贴。如此半月许。亦不痛不破。疮且自清为水永瘥。陈藏器云。黑锡寒治瘿
Maltose. After taking the medicine, if diarrhea occurs for three to five days, only soft porridge and rice can be consumed.
Neixiao Muli Wan (Oyster Pill for Internal Resolution) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula (lymphatic tuberculosis).
*Muli* (Oyster Shell, 3 liang, calcined to ash) *Zaojiazi* (Gleditsia Sinensis Fruit, 2 sheng, soaked in clear water overnight) First, boil the *Zaojiazi* in 3 sheng of water until soft. Remove and grind into a paste in a porcelain basin. Add *Muli* powder and form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 15 pills each time, with warm wine on an empty stomach. Take again in the evening.
Muli San (Oyster Powder) [from *Cunren Fang*] treats scrofula.
*Muli* (Oyster Shell, 3 liang, sealed with yellow clay and calcined until white) *Gancao* (Licorice Root, roasted and cut, 1 liang) Grind the above into a powder. Take 2 qianbi each time, with clear tea from December on an empty stomach. Take three times a day. Additionally, take one stick of Gleditsia sinensis, remove the skin, and divide into two sections. Brush one section with half a cup of rice vinegar and roast until dry; roast the other section until dry. Take 2 *Wutou* (Aconite Lateral Root), one processed and one raw. Stir-fry 30 grains of glutinous rice. Grind all together into a fine powder. Mix with half a cup of warm vinegar to form a paste and apply to the lesion. Treats rat scrofula.
Maotoutou (Cat's Head Herb, 1 piece, roasted) *Shexiang* (Musk, 1 qian, ground) Apply with clarified oil.
Treat scrofula occurring at the junction of the head and neck, named "Snake-Coiling Scrofula". It should be treated early. Also known as Haicai Wan (Seaweed Pill) [from *Wei Shi Fang*].
*Haizao* (Sargassum, stir-fried with buckwheat and dehusked) *Baijiangcan* (White Silkworm, lightly stir-fried and silk mouth removed) Equal parts are ground into fine powder. The Sargassum is freshly ground and sifted. Soak dried white plum in water. Use the soaking water to form pills. Take 60-70 pills each time after meals and before bed, delivered with grain drink. The toxin will naturally exit via stool. Taking it together with *Dancai* (Edible Mussel) is even better, as Dancai grows on algae and also treats this disease. Avoid tofu, chicken, mutton, alcohol, and wheat noodles. Take 5-6 times a day.
Treat various scrofula [from *Ben Shi Fang*].
*Miduoseng* (Litharge, 10 wen, ground) *Qingfan* (Green Vitriol, 5 wen, calcined) Grind into powder. Apply dry. Alternatively, mix with good flour paste to make a patch and apply. When the sore dries, reapply the medicine 3-5 times. Then use *Baiji* (Bletilla Rhizome) and *Huangbai* (Phellodendron Bark), mix with water to make a patch.
Yiyan Fang (Proven Prescription) [from *Wei Shi Fang*] treats established scrofula.
*Wuji Zi* (Hen Egg, 7 pieces, mixed well) *Banmao* (Mustard Beetle, 49 pieces, heads, wings, and feet removed) For each hen egg, remove the top. Stir well with chopsticks and insert. Insert 7 *Banmao* grains per egg. Seal with paper paste and steam over rice until cooked. Remove the *Banmao* and eat the egg. Eat one egg each time, accompanied by a decoction of Shengliao Wuji San (Raw Material Five Accumulations Powder). Do not exceed 4-5 doses. For ulcerated lesions, promote tissue regeneration; for non-ulcerated ones, resolve them. The prescription states: do not remove the *Banmao*; stop when slight purgation of toxins occurs. This is far superior to Jisheng Sansheng San and Yangshi Siwei Fang. Not only do people dare not take it, but it also avoids the worry of urinary retention and pain. If abdominal pain persists after purgation, mix Qingdian (Indigo Paste) with cold water, or decoct Huanglian (Coptis Rhizome) to counteract it. Another prescription suggests processing Zaojiazi (Gleditsia Fruit) for oral administration. Muli Wan (Oyster Pill) is also suitable.
Sangbaipi Tang (Mulberry Root Bark Decoction) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula with roots in the liver.
*Sangbaipi* (Mulberry Root Bark, cut) *Xiaoshi* (Niter, ground to powder, 2 liang each) *Zige* (Pueraria Lobata Root) *Shaoyao* (Peony Root, 1 fen each) *Xijiao* (Rhinoceros Horn, sliced) *Huzhang* (Polygonum Cuspidatum Rhizome, 1 fen each) Coarsely crush and sieve the first five ingredients. Take 5 qianbi each time, with 1.5 cups of water, decoct to 0.8 cups, strain. Add 0.5 qianbi of *Xiaoshi*, mix well. Take with warm wine on an empty stomach and in the evening to purge the root of the disease.
Bu'er San (Unparalleled Powder) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula swelling and pain. Suitable for both adults and children.
*Muli* (Oyster Shell, 1 liang) *Shepi* (Snake Slough, 1 piece, raw, stir-fried and dried) Grind into powder. Take 2 qianbi each time, mixed with warm wine.
Baican San (White Silkworm Powder) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula.
*Baijiangcan* (White Silkworm, 1 liang, stir-fried) *Qilinjie* (Dragon's Blood) *Moyao* (Myrrh, 0.5 liang each) Grind into powder. Take 1.5 qianbi each time, mixed with musk-infused wine.
Woniu Wan (Snail Pill) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula, whether ulcerated or not.
*Woniu* (Snail, half bowl, skin removed) *Jisu* (Elsholtzia, approx. 0.5 jin) Grind together into fine powder. Soak in water overnight. Mix with steamed bread dough to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 15 pills each time. For unulcerated sores, take with water; for ulcerated sores, take with mint decoction. Three times a day.
Muli San (Oyster Powder) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats five types of scrofula.
*Muli* (Oyster Shell, finely ground) *Lianqiao* (Forsythia Fruit, stir-fried on tile and crushed, 1 liang equal parts) Grind into powder. Take 1 qian each time before sleep, mixed with non-ashy wine. After recovery, take another 1 liang to prevent recurrence forever.
Xijiao Wan (Rhinoceros Horn Pill) treats scrofula.
*Xijiao* (Rhinoceros Horn, 4 fen, sliced) *Shengma* (Cimicifuga Rhizome, 3 fen, cut) *Dahuang* (Rhubarb Root, 6 fen, wine-soaked) *Niubangzi* (Arctium Fruit, 8 fen, stir-fried) *Xuanshen* (Scrophularia Root, 8.5 fen) *Wushe* (Zaocys Snake, 1 qian, roasted, head and tail removed) Grind into powder, honey-pilled the size of paulownia seeds. Every day at noon, take 35 pills with Arctium decoction.
Another Prescription
*Longgu* (Dragon Bone, 8 fen) *Muli* (Oyster Shell, 8 fen) Grind into powder. Take 3 qianbi with wine. Three times a day is effective.
Dahuang Gao (Rhubarb Ointment)
*Dahuang* (Rhubarb Root, 6 fen, cut) *Fuzi* (Aconite Lateral Root, 4 fen, processed) *Xixin* (Asarum Root, 3 fen, ground) *Lianqiao* (Forsythia Fruit, 4 fen, remove black heart) *Badou* (Croton Seed, 1 fen, skin removed) Soak in vinegar overnight. Decoct with lard from the twelfth lunar month, using the method of "three up and three down" (boil, remove from heat, cool, repeat three times). Strain, filter through cotton, and apply to the sore. Apply 3-5 times a day for good effect.
Shexi San (Snake and Rhinoceros Powder) [from *Wei Shi Fang*] treats scrofula.
*Baihuashe Rou* (Bungarus Multicinctus Meat, wine-soaked and dried, 4 liang equal parts) *Xijiao* (Rhinoceros Horn, 1 liang, sliced) *Qingfen* (Calomel, 2.5 qian) *Qingju Pi* (Green Tangerine Peel, 0.5 liang, remove white pith and dry) *Qianniuzi* (Morning Glory Seed, 1.5 liang, 1 liang stir-fried, 0.5 liang raw) *Binglang* (Betel Nut, 2.5 qian) Grind into powder. Take 2 qianbi each time, add a pinch of Nifen (Calomel). Mix with glutinous rice drink. Take at the beginning of the fifth watch (3-5 AM). By noon, foul matter will be discharged. If not fully discharged, take again after half a month. Non-ulcerated cases resolve internally; ulcerated cases dry up naturally. Avoid all greasy foods and wind-aggravating items. One prescription uses Bai Qianniuzi (White Morning Glory Seed).
Sisheng San (Four Sages Powder) [from *Wei Shi Fang*] treats scrofula. Use the previous Shexi San to purge first, then use this formula to tonify.
*Haizao* (Sargassum, washed) *Shijueming* (Abalone Shell, calcined) *Qianghuo* (Notopterygium Rhizome) *Quma Sui* (Agrostidis Spica, equal parts) Grind into powder. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with rice soup. Three times a day. Ideally, discharge clear water completely.
Zhuxie San (Evil-Purging Powder) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula. Scrofula is caused by wind-pathogen and toxic qi lodging in the muscles, accumulating where deficiency exists, forming sores. They are like plums or peaches in size, connected in groups of two or three, with hot skin and flesh. Over time, they suppurate and grow continuously. If long-standing without healing, it becomes scrofula. This formula is effective regardless of how long the disease has lasted.
*Zaojiazi* (Gleditsia Fruit, any amount, placed in a silk bag in the toilet to soak for 3-7 days, remove, wash clean, place in a pit in the ground, cover to release toxicity overnight, dry by roasting) Take 2 qianbi of Zaozi powder, 1 qianbi of Banmao powder, 2 qian of Shuiyin Fen (Mercury Powder), and 1 raw hen egg. Take the egg white into a cup, add half a cup of grain drink. Mix all medicines thoroughly. Take at the beginning of the fourth watch (1-3 AM). By the fifth watch, toxic matter will be discharged, either through urine or stool. Minor discomfort or pain is acceptable. If the disease has lasted five years, take only three doses. Three years, two doses. Two years, one dose. Dietary restriction: only eat salt-roasted food for 5-7 days. This prescription has been proven very effective. Jizi Fang (Egg Prescription) [from *Shengji Zonglu*] treats scrofula.
*Jizi* (Hen Egg, 1 piece, hollowed out) *Nifen* (Calomel, 1 liang, ground) Break the egg, pour out the yolk. Remove the white. Put Nifen inside the shell. Cover the opening with 5-6 layers of wet paper. Steam over rice until cooked. Soak in fresh cold water. Remove paper, ensuring no water enters. For ages 10 to under 50, divide into three doses. For ages under 10 to 7, divide into ten doses. Take at the beginning of the fifth watch with cooked water. If the disease is above the diaphragm, worms may be vomited; if below, eggs may be passed. Afterwards, take a small amount of Helile Pi (Terminalia Chebula Pericarpium) powder mixed with good tea and decocted. Another prescription: slowly roast until dark brown, add 0.5 liang Zhusha (Cinnabar), grind. Adults take 1 qian with grain drink at the beginning of the fifth watch. After a while, abdominal pain occurs, and the root is expelled, resembling a date pit. The disease heals. Children under 15 take only 0.5 qian.

Yubing Zi (Jade Cake) [from *Rumen Shiqin*] treats scrofula and all malignant sores/soft boils.
Take 1 liang of Baijiao (White Gelatin). Melt in a porcelain vessel. Remove dregs. Melt again. Add 64 Biba Zi (Castor Seeds) pounded into paste. Stir into the gelatin. Add half a spoon of small oil. Test hardness/softness by dipping chopstick in water. Adjust gelatin and oil as needed. Spread the ointment on red silk according to the size of the sore. One cake can treat 3-5 boils.

Burn the felt lining from old shoes to ash. Mix 5 qianbi with 1 sheng of wine. Take daily facing the sun. Walk vigorously. Foul matter will be vomited shortly, and the patient will recover.

Grind Xiao Zuopanlong (likely a specific herb or animal part) to powder. Mix with aged rice paste to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 30-50 pills each time with aged rice soup.
Treat fistula and scrofula nodes. [from *Haishang Fang*]
Use Shihu Ye (Oak Leaf), old or new. Add a little salt. Chew together until pasty. Rinse the sore with the salty saliva mixture. Then apply the chewed leaf to the sore. If unulcerated, follow the previous method. If suffering from scrofula nodes, if the sore is wet, chew oak leaf with a little salt and apply. If dry, it can also be applied.
Woniu San (Snail Powder) [from *Wei Shi Fang*] treats scrofula, applicable whether ulcerated or not.
Take any amount of snails. Thread through the tail with bamboo string, dry, calcine to retain nature, and grind to powder. Add a little Qingfen (Calomel). Mix with pig marrow. Cut paper flowers to fit the sore size and apply. Another prescription: take 7 snails, remove meat, put 7 Dingxiang (Cloves) inside the shell, calcine to retain nature. Grind meat and shell together into paste. Apply with cotton.
Scrofula Prescription.
Grind 4 liang Kushen (Sophora Root) to powder. Mix with raw Niuxi (Achyranthes Root) to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 10 pills after meals with warm water. Three times a day.
Biba Fa (Castor Method) [from *Weisheng Jiabao Fang*]
Stir-fry castor seeds until cooked. Peel and take kernels. On the first day, eat one. Second day, two. Increase to ten by the third to fifth day. Fourteen by the fifteenth/sixteenth day. Back to one on the thirtieth day. Take on an empty stomach. Complete this cycle for one month. In the second month, take at any time, any number, such as fruits (3, 5, 7, or 10). Doing this for two months leads to cure. After taking this medicine, one must never eat tofu in their lifetime, or it causes fatal bloating. Chen Shi's Proven Prescription says: My elder brother suffered from scrofula when my father was a tax official in Hangzhou. A surgeon offered this prescription. Initially skeptical, I met a traveler whose boat passed ours. He asked about my brother's condition. The traveler said he had eaten castor seeds and recovered. I immediately prepared and administered it. Recovery in two months. Another method: stir-fry bran, remove shells, store in porcelain. Take 30 seeds each time, three times a day. Three courses eliminate the root. Another prescription: for ulcerated cases, grind fine, mix with vinegar to form paste, apply. Extraordinary effect.
Yuxie Miaoling San (Jade Dust Miraculous Spirit Powder) [from *Cunren Fang*] treats scrofula.
Grind 2 liang Guifu Huashi (Guifu Talcum) to powder. Take 2 qian each time with grain drink. Chen Shi's Proven Prescription says: I saw Wu Bojun at the book bureau, worried about his eldest daughter's worsening illness. Lou Dafang visited his relative Zhao Sihu's mother, Ms. Han, who said her youngest son, age 11, suffered from this. There were 70 visible nodes on his neck. Someone gave him this prescription, saying it clears heat from the Pericardium Meridian and expels toxins via urine. After taking it, urination became difficult. I used Amber, ground fine, decocted strongly, and took with Dengxin Tang (Juncus Decoction). Soon, material resembling peeled grape flesh was discharged, 17 pieces in total. The sores healed completely. His son is now a military officer in Lin'an. Truly a miraculous prescription. Wu's daughter recovered. I witnessed this. Recently, a child suffered from this. Used it and recovered immediately. The child suffered for two years, seeing many doctors without success. After taking this medicine, recovered in ten days. Later, I compounded this medicine and distributed it. Over ten people recovered. Bearing the name of Great Sage, it is truly not false.
Treat scrofula, whether with head or without. [from *Ren Cun Fang*]
Take 5 large spiders, dry, grind fine. Mix with su (clarified butter) to the consistency of face cream. Apply twice daily. Web-spinning spiders can be used; others are not suitable.

Remove intestines and viscera from bats. Roast on new tiles until dry, grind to powder. For unulcerated cases, mix with water, spread on paper, and apply. For ulcerated cases, sprinkle dry powder.
Shao Hui San (Calcined Ash Powder) [from *Wei Shi Fang*] treats scrofula.
Jingxiao Fang (Effectual Prescription) treats long-standing scrofula that does not heal. [from *Wei Shi Fang*]
Take 100 non-boring Zaojiazi (Gleditsia Fruit), 1 sheng rice vinegar, 2 qian Pingsha (Borax). Boil until vinegar is gone. Stir-fry until crisp. Depending on the number of nodes formed, take one pill per node (e.g., if 10 nodes, take 10). Chew finely with grain drink. Shi's Pediatric Prescription: Wine-boil, hold 3 pills in mouth at night until dissolved. Named Po Luo Dan (Break Scrofula Pill). Boji Fang: Soak in wine for 3 days, boil with gentle fire until dry. Hold 3 pills in mouth at night. Similar to Jisheng Fang Zaojiazi Wan. Shengji Zonglu contains Borax. Weak elderly should not take it.
Zaojiao San (Gleditsia Powder) [from *Wei Shi Fang*]
Take any amount of non-boring Zaojiao (Gleditsia Fruit). Bundle 30 sticks together, wrap in palm fiber, tie tight. Soak in cesspool for one month. Remove. Soak in flowing river water for another month. Stagnant water cannot cleanse; do not use. Remove palm fiber, dry, grind to powder. Mix 1 liang Zaojiao powder with 0.5 qian Shexiang (Musk) and 7 Quanxie (Scorpion). Grind fine and mix evenly. Take 1-2 qian each time, mixed with wine or soup. Cure within three doses.

Grind Ganjiang (Dried Ginger) to powder. Mix with fresh ginger juice and flour paste to make cakes. Coat with Dan (cinnabar coating) if desired. Once daily. Insert medicine into sore according to size. Until pus is exhausted and flesh regenerates. Close the sore. If the sore does not close, apply Dahuang (Rhubarb) powder mixed with Congbai (Scallion White) juice. Daily take 2 doses of Shixuan Neituo San (Ten-Accumulation Interior-Supporting Powder). For painful, unulcerated sores, decoct Yejugeng (Wild Chrysanthemum Root) in wine and drink. Grind used chrysanthemum root to powder and apply to sore to self-resolve. If not resolved and sore breaks, follow the decoction method to drain pus, regenerate flesh, and close the sore. Miraculous effect.
Scrofula Sore Prescription.
Take 40 Quanxie (Scorpions). Place Muli ash and Sangchai ash (Mulberry Firewood Ash) on charcoal fire. Make a nest with the ash. Bury scorpions inside. Cover ash with white paper. Place 24 glutinous rice grains with black spots on the paper. Cover with a bowl. Steam until rice turns yellow. Remove. Place one grain on the sore. It will heal itself.
For anyone suffering from ulcerated scrofula.
Take 1 live crucian carp. Drown in the patient's own urine. Remove guts. Insert 7 Banmao (Mustard Beetles), removing heads and feet. Burn to ash. Add a little Shexiang (Musk). Sprinkle dry on the sore. Apply Hei Gao (Black Ointment). Avoid stimulating foods.

1 liang Banmao (Mustard Beetle), 1 sheng glutinous rice stir-fried cooked. Remove heads and wings. Take 3 liang each of Bohe Ye (Mint Leaf), Lianqiao (Forsythia), Jingjie Sui (Schizonepeta Spica). Grind to powder. Mix with Wujizi Qing (Hen Egg White).

Take 1 crucian carp, remove guts but keep scales. Pound 1 liang Bibaren (Castor Kernel) into paste. Stuff into fish belly. Wrap in woman's collar oil paper. Simmer over gentle fire until charred. Remove paper, simmer over gentle fire until fish becomes ash. Grind to powder. Take 3 qian each time, mixed with 1 cup of wine. Clarify. Stay awake until fifth watch. Discharge foul matter.

Take any amount of Dahe Juan Yu Zi (Grass Carp Roe). Wrap in Lotus Leaves, dry in shade, grind to powder. If unulcerated, sprinkle dry.

Take any amount of Songxiang (Rosin). Melt into liquid. Filter through new cotton into water. Change water nine times. Melt and filter again, grind fine. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with pre-rain tea bud decoction. Take after meals and before bed, three times a day.

Clean and dry old broken boot soles, burn to ash. Mix 1 liang ash with 3 qian Qingfen (Calomel). Mix with Rushi (Frankincense) and Xiangyou (Sesame Oil). If sore is ulcerated and discharging pus, do not use oil; apply dry powder to stop discharge.
Another Prescription
Split Huangsang Yu (Yellow Catfish). Insert 20-30 Bibazi (Castor Seeds) into the belly. Tie with cotton. Place in toilet pit. Winter: 3 months. Spring/Autumn: 2 months. Summer: 1 month. Remove, wash clean. Seal with yellow clay. Simmer over gentle fire retaining nature. Grind rotten to powder. Mix with sesame oil several times. Also treats leg ulcers.
Treat Snake-Coiling Scrofula Sore.
Take Huangya Huang (Golden Bar Fish, also called Yellow Duckling). Take 1 fish. Tie with thread. Place in dung vat overnight. Remove, roast on tile until dry, grind to powder. Mix with good sesame oil and apply. If too oily, remove oil and apply dry.
Treat scrofula, whether ulcerated or not, can be taken orally.
Take 1 whole Huangshu Zi (Yellow Rat). Put in bottle. Seal bottle mouth with salt. Roast over fire until cooked. Grind to fine powder. Take 2 qian each time, mixed with non-ashy wine.
Treat Various Scrofula Prescription.
Cut thin paper into 4 pieces, each 4 cun long. Mix 2 qian Shuiyin (Mercury) and 2 qian Nifen (Calomel). Break 1 egg, take white. Mix white with Nifen. Spread on 4 paper squares. Determine how many pieces based on medicine amount. Spread evenly in porcelain plate. Sun-dry indoors, avoid fire. When 80-90% dry, peel off paper. Cut finely into paulownia seed size. Each piece makes 50 pills. Size of Gleditsia fruit. Decoct soup, take 3 warm pills each time, three times a day. Take on empty stomach, at noon, and before bed. On the third day, pass turtle eggs resembling rotten apricot pits. This indicates the disease source is moved without affecting vital qi.

Roast Ci Fu Pi (Acanthopanax Bark) on tile until dry, grind to powder. Add Shuiyin Fen (Mercury Powder). Apply dry.

Take 3 liang Qian (Lead). Roast in iron vessel. Eventually, residue will look like black ash. Take this ash, mix with fat, and apply to scrofula. Still cover with old cloth. Frequently remove cloth, wipe away foul fluid, and reapply. After about half a month, it will not hurt or break. The sore will clear and become watery, leading to permanent cure. Chen Cangqi says: Black Tin (Lead) is cold and treats goiter.
