Decoct with water until three cups remain. Divide into three doses. Take one dose per day. The symptoms will surely decrease. If there is slight loose stool from the zang-fu organs, it does not hinder the Foot-Yangming Stomach meridian. The classics state: "The intestines and stomach are like a market." It also states: "Yangming has abundant blood and qi." The stomach accepts all flavors, fishy, pungent, sweet, sour, and bitter, just as a market contains everything. Among the six meridians, the Stomach meridian has the most abundant blood and qi, capable of rotting and fermenting toxins from food. These toxins accumulate in the stomach. Therefore, this formula uses Xi Jiao (Rhinoceros Horn) as the chief herb. Food toxins travel along the Yangming meridians, surrounding the lips and clamping the mouth, originating at the nose crossing at Renzhong (GV26), following Jiache (ST6), ascending before the ear, passing over the forehead, entering upwards along the hairline to the frontal skull. In the past, nobles suffering from diseases of this meridian also used Shengma (Cimicifetae Rhizoma) as an assistant herb. The other herbs all clear and eliminate wind-heat. Shengma (Cimicifetae Rhizoma) and Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) specifically enter the Stomach meridian, hence their efficacy.
