[Translation]
The accumulation disease of the Kidney is named Ben Tun (Panic/Pancreatic Qi). It originates in the lower abdomen and rises up to the area below the heart. Its shape resembles a little pig running, moving up and down without fixed timing. If it persists for a long time without healing, it causes wheezing and rebellious Qi (asthma/reverse flow of Qi).
The so-called Ben Tun Qi is an accumulation disease of the Kidney. It arises from fright, fear, worry, and overthinking. Fright injures the Shen (Spirit), as the Heart houses the Shen; worry and overthinking injure the Zhi (Will), as the Kidney houses the Zhi. Diseases of the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian manifest as Chen Jue (Deep Paralysis) and Ben Tun, characterized by feet that cannot support the body, and inability to urinate or defecate. All these result from fright. This is because there is pus between the Kidneys. The Master said: Those suffering from diseases resembling Ben Tun have Qi rising from the lower abdomen, rushing up to the throat and pharynx. During attacks, they feel as if they are about to die, but then recover. All these result from fright. This is because there is pus between the Kidneys.
The Master said: Among diseases, there are four types: Ben Tun, vomiting of pus, fright/terror, and Fire Evil. All these result from fright. For Fire Evil, Guizhi Jia Longgu Muli Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus Dragon Bone and Oyster Shell) is the primary treatment. If one has recently suffered financial loss or been pursued by officials, causing illness due to fright, the treatment uses Chitou Qiandan (Owl Head Lead Pellet). (Qianjin Yifang contains Feihong Qian [Flying Goose Lead]).
