The Upper Jiao (Upper Burner, referring to the physiological functions of the heart and lungs) is like a mist. This refers to the fumes and steaming of the body fluids from the five Zang organs. Its Qi is moist and humid, thus it can distribute to all the meridians. Now, with Huoluan (cholera-like syndrome) causing vomiting, the human body severely loses body fluids and benefits from fluid loss [Note: 'Li' here implies loss/diarrhea contextually, but literally means benefit/profit, in TCM context of vomiting/diarrhea it implies depletion].
