The condition of wind-phlegm in women arises from wind-cold invading the zang-fu organs, causing fluid retention to stagnate in the chest and diaphragm. Everyone has phlegm; when present in small amounts, it causes no obstruction.

Formulas:
Xuanfu Hua Tang (Cistanche Flower Decoction, from *Shenghui Fang*) treats wind-phlegm in women causing vomiting and regurgitation, coldness in the Zhongwan area, epigastric discomfort, spontaneous flow of clear water from the mouth, and urgent distension/fullness in the hypochondrium and abdomen.
Herbs: Inulae Flos (Xuanfu Hua, remove pedicel), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Guangpi, remove albedo, stir-bake with bran), Peucedani Radix (Qianhu), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, remove rhizome), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Cinnamomi Cortex (Guixin), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhike), Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum (Banxia) (each 0.5 liang).

Xuanfu Hua Tang (Cistanche Flower Decoction, from *Diquan Liangfang*) treats epigastric discomfort in women's chest and heart, mostly due to phlegm syndromes. Some say this is blood-related discomfort; eating stir-fried pig blood cures it, guiding blood back to its source. This decoction treats cold-phlegm in the Zhongwan, heart, and abdomen, characterized by epigastric discomfort, spontaneous flow of clear water from the mouth, urgent distension in the hypochondrium and abdomen, chest fullness, and loss of appetite. It addresses all these symptoms.
