Bi syndrome is formed by the combination of wind, cold, and dampness pathogens. Its manifestations include numbness and stiffness of muscles, or pain. This occurs because the human body is deficient, causing the couli (pores and interstices) to open, thereby allowing wind pathogens to invade.
Tianma Wan (Gastrodia Pill), from *Taiping Shenghui Fang*, treats deficiency-induced wind invasion resulting in weakness of hands and feet, dryness of limbs, and Bi syndrome with insensitivity.
