Wind xuan (wind-related pruritic skin disease) is caused by the invasion of malignant wind and cold qi into the blood and qi. It may present as circular, raised lesions. Scratching leads to thickened, numb skin where pain and itch sensation are lost. Parasites may also be generated within the lesion.
