If the Spleen transfers heat to the Liver, it results in fright and epistaxis (nosebleed). The Spleen belongs to Earth, and the Liver belongs to Wood. Normally, Wood controls Earth; however, now Spleen heat causes Earth Qi to become excessively strong, counter-attacking and overcoming Wood, leading to disorder of Blood and Qi. Palpating the Cun Kou pulse (radial artery at the wrist), there will inevitably be Jue Ni (cold extremities due to Yang deficiency or Qi stagnation), with a pulse that is Yin-Yang disordered and floating but necessarily thin.
