Shihuang (Cinnabar, Realgar, or Sulfur? Context implies Sulfur: Sulfur) ten liang, first refined by sublimation to remove sand and stones, weighed and ground into fine powder. It is placed in a porcelain container, sealed with water mixed with Chishizhi (Red Stone Grease), and further secured with salt mud.
(Note: The original text here contains severe omissions or garbled characters regarding the heating process, such as "burn dry," "add top," "each," "cold," "legs and knees," "blood not," "spontaneous sweating." These cannot be accurately translated and are omitted for coherence.)
This formula does not use Xuanjingshi (Metamorphic Rock / Aragonite), and its efficacy is even more rapid.
Xiaoshi (Niter / Potassium Nitrate) (one liang, mixed with Sulfur into fine powder and placed into a ding vessel, slowly stir-fried over mild fire, stirred constantly with a willow twig whisk until the Yin and Yang energies merge; avoid excessive heat to prevent damaging the medicinal power, then grind extremely fine, two he of each powder). Boshang Shihuang (Sulfur from overseas trade) (one liang, transparent and free of stone impurities). Wulingzhi (Trogopterus Dung) (two liang, must be sourced from Mount Wutai, washed with water to remove sand and stones, sun-dried, and finely ground). Taiyin Xuanjingshi (Taiyin Metamorphic Rock) (one liang, finely ground and processed by water flotation). Chenju Pi (Aged Tangerine Peel) (two liang, white pith removed). Qingju Pi (Green Tangerine Peel) (two liang, white pith removed).
The above Wulingzhi and the two types of tangerine peels are ground into fine powder. Then, the Xuanjingshi powder and the previous two powders are added and mixed evenly. Good dripping vinegar is used to make a paste for pill formation, sized like pea seeds. Each dose consists of thirty pills, taken on an empty stomach with porridge broth. For severe cases, fifty pills are taken. Children take three to five pills; newborn infants take one pill. For children with slow convulsive disease (Man Jing Feng) or persistent vomiting and diarrhea leading to deficiency wind tremors, this is not external wind but rather the impending exhaustion of Stomach Qi. Take five pills crushed in rice drink. For elderly patients suffering from latent heat causing confusion and oppression, take with Perilla Decoction (Zisu Tang). For postpartum women experiencing blood rebellion rushing upward causing fainting, continuous lochia discharge, or red and white leukorrhea, take with vinegar water. This medicine treats the failure of Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) energies to nourish each other, the non-descent of Heart Fire and non-ascent of Kidney Water, upper excess and lower deficiency, qi stagnation with phlegm syncope, cold pain in the heart and abdomen, and deficiency-induced laxity of the zang-fu organs. Regardless of gender, age, or critical condition, as long as Stomach Qi remains, recovery is assured. It tonifies deficiencies, supports weakness, rescues Yin, and assists Yang, offering exceptional efficacy. Regular consumption harmonizes Yin and Yang, benefits the spirit, disperses damp-cold in the waist and kidneys, stops cold pain in the abdomen and flanks, and yields immediate miraculous results. It is suitable for various diseases where Yin-Yang differentiation is unclear. (For heatstroke causing coma, restlessness, and near-death state, urgently mix five [pills] with fresh well water...)
