Yin-toxin Cold Damage (Yindu Shanghan), with obstruction of Guan-Ge (blockage of the upper and lower orifices), abdominal distension, panting, and cold extremities should also be treated with moxibustion according to this method; once the Qi mechanism flows freely, it can be cured.
Babao Dou (Crotonis Fructus, 14 seeds) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 7 cun, used with peel)
Pulverize the above ingredients finely, mix with saliva to form a paste, fill into the center of the umbilicus, and apply moxibustion on top. If sounds are heard in the abdomen, the disease will depart. The number of moxa cones is not limited; stop when the disease is cured. Immediately after moxibustion, wipe with a handkerchief soaked in warm water to prevent sores.
Treats mania caused by Cold Damage, such as discarding clothes and running wildly, climbing over walls or onto roofs.
Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, remove roots) Hanshuishi (Calcitum, equal parts)
Pulverize the above ingredients finely. Take 2 qian per dose, mix with thick decoction of Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) that has been cooled, and take orally.
The formula is mentioned earlier.
I once recalled a relative suffering from Cold Damage, with fever, headache, absence of sweating, and constipation for four or five days. Upon inquiry, I saw the physician preparing Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) and Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) to purge. Although pathogenic factors have invaded due to deficiency, one should first release the exterior; forcing purgation will surely cause disaster and even death. Stool is hard and retained... (text fragmentary/disordered).
Treats blood stasis.
Shuizhi (Hirudo, 5 pieces, roasted) Mengchong (Tabanidae Insect, 5 pieces, remove wings and legs, stir-fried) Taoren (Persicae Semen, 6 pieces, remove skin and tips) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, remove skin... wrapped in wet paper, steamed in a steamer, take 3 fen)
Pulverize the above ingredients into powder, blend with refined honey to make one pill. Decoct with one cup of water until reduced to 0.7 cups, and take at once. Black blood should be discharged at this time; if not, prepare another dose.
A person suffered from Cold Damage for seven or eight days, with a faint and deep pulse, yellowish complexion, mania, fullness and distension in the lower abdomen, coldness below the umbilicus, and free urination. I said: Zhang Zhongjing stated that the Taiyang Bladder meridian... accumulating along the meridian... Nan Jing discusses slippery pulses... as appendicitis... (text fragmentary/disordered).
Administer Dangdang Wan (Dangdang Pill); several sheng of black blood were discharged, mania ceased, and recovery occurred through sweating. The Classic says: Blood stagnating above causes forgetfulness; blood stagnating below causes mania.
Mentioned earlier.
A person initially fell ill with cold extremities, pounding pain below the umbilicus, body pain as if beaten by a stick, indicating a Yin syndrome. Urgently administer Jin Ye Dan (Golden Liquid Pill), Poyin Dan (Broken Yin Pill), Laifu Dan (Reviving Return Pill), etc., Yang pulse... I said... discuss slippery... combination... suddenly descending... (text fragmentary/disordered).
