The formula is in the preceding text.
A person suffered from fever, aversion to cold, and spontaneous sweating, with a floating and weak pulse. After taking this decoction for three doses, he recovered. Among Zhang Zhongjing's one hundred and thirteen formulas, this one uniquely holds the first place. Nowadays, people do not use it at all; it is truly lamentable. Zhang Zhongjing said: In Taiyang Wind-Strike (Taiyang Fengzhong), the pulse is floating on the Yang position and weak on the Yin position. Floating Yang indicates spontaneous heat, while weak Yin indicates spontaneous sweating, (therefore) it is named as a method to induce sweating (Note: The original text here has omissions or textual corruption; combined with context and TCM theory, it implies that due to disharmony of Ying and Wei leading to sweating, one needs to harmonize Ying and Wei to release the exterior).
Treats yellowing caused by heat, dampness, and retained food in the stomach interfering with each other.
Yinchen Hao (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba, tender ones, 1 liang 5 qian) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 3 fen, wrapped in wet paper and steamed) Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus, small ones, 10 pieces, skin removed)
Crush the above ingredients into coarse powder. Take 1 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, boil until reduced to 0.8 zhan, remove the dregs, mix in 2 qian of Wuling San, and take. Stop when effective.
Wuling San (Poria Decoction). Treats Shanghan (Cold Damage) and warm diseases where both exterior and interior pathogens remain unresolved, manifesting as headache, fever, dry mouth and throat, irritability, thirst with desire to drink, or vomiting immediately after drinking water, or difficulty in urination. It is also suitable for cases where sweating resolves the exterior pathogen but irritability and thirst persist. Furthermore, it treats Huoluan (Cholera-like disorder) with vomiting and diarrhea, accompanied by dryness, thirst, and desire to drink.
Zhuling (Polyporus, black skin removed, 1 liang 5 qian) Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma, 2 liang 5 qian) Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 1 liang 5 qian) Baifuling (Poria with Hostwood, skin removed, 1 liang 5 qian) Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus, 1 liang, outer bark removed, not stir-fried)
Grind each of the above ingredients separately into a powder, mix well. Take 3 qian per dose, mixed with warm boiled water. Time of administration is not restricted. After taking, drink plenty of hot water. Recovery occurs with sweating. If not cured, take again.
Treats yellowing and gallbladder heat caused by cold-dampness invading the head.
Gouti (Momordicae Semen, 27 seeds) Chixiaodou (Vigna angularis, 27 seeds) Shumi (Sorgi Semen, 27 seeds)
Grind the above into fine powder. Make pills the size of soybeans using water. Insert one pill into the nostril, contract the nostril to help it enter. Yellow fluid should discharge. Do not blow the powder into the nose.

Yiqia San (One-Sip Powder), which is the Qufeng Miaoying San (Miraculous Response Powder for Expelling Wind) from *Jiu Yue Weisheng*. It treats severe and malignant wind syndromes, such as opisthotonos (angular rigidity), aphonia, jaw stiffness, salivary flooding with convulsions, staring eyes, and mental dullness. ("Xi" is pronounced like 'jia', meaning to sip/inhale).
