Strain the dregs and take warm. (The *Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang* states: Take this medicine after meals; it may be taken from after Start of Summer to before Start of Autumn. It should not be taken in spring, after Start of Autumn, or by those who have lost blood or are deficient.)
A person suffered from vomiting at the onset of illness, which was subsequently treated with purgatives by a physician. After seven or eight days, internal and external heat manifested. I diagnosed this as requiring White Tiger plus Ginseng Decoction. Some argue that if the exterior syndrome is not resolved, healing will not occur, potentially leading to aversion to cold... Treats epistaxis (nǔ xuè) due to Cold Damage.
Huashi (Talcum), quantity unrestricted, formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds using rice paste. Take ten pills per dose, chew slightly, and swallow with fresh water to stop bleeding immediately. Alternatively, take one large qian of the powder with a little rice, chewing together. Suitable for both elderly and young.
Yang Huishu stated: Epistaxis is caused by the failure to sweat when sweating was indicated. When the blood is dark blue-black, do not attempt to stop it regardless of the amount. Instead, use mild medicines to harmonize Ying and Wei. Only when the blood becomes bright red should this medicine be urgently used to stop it.
