Take 50–70 pills each time, three times a day, administered with human milk. Note: This formula can be used for patients with congenital deficiency or acquired depletion, adding medicines as appropriate and following this dosage method. However, the placenta must be stewed熟 (cooked熟) with wine to be effective. Although Xue Ji intended to use its "vital qi," raw material is fishy and greasy, which may harm stomach qi. Moreover, once separated from the body, what vital qi remains? It merely utilizes its sympathetic nature and flavor to nourish blood and qi. Furthermore, human blood and qi are nurtured by cooked and hot substances; thus, the difference between raw/hot usage in tonification and purging is significant. Is it true that cooking renders it useless while raw use is harmless? Therefore, I say using it cooked is preferable.
