Human blood: Mainly treats emaciation, dryness and withering of skin and flesh, and the appearance of bran-like scales on the body. It is also used for bites from rabid dogs when chills and fever are about to erupt; fresh hot blood should be obtained by pricking and drunk. ○ Human flesh: Treats *zhai* disease (consumptive disease due to transmission). ○ Human placenta (*Ren Bao*): Treats qi and blood deficiency leading to emaciation, damage due to overwork in women, darkening of facial skin, and various abdominal diseases causing gradual wasting and debility. Mix with five flavors (herbs), prepare according to the method for making cakes/biscuits, and administer as food without letting the patient know it contains human placenta. When human placental membrane turns into water, it has a pungent taste and is non-toxic. It treats infantile erysipelas, various heat toxins causing persistent chills and fever, delirious speech, involuntary hair standing up on the head, and deficiency-type distension. This medicine is prepared by burying the placental membrane underground for seven to eight years after childbirth until it transforms into clear,澄澈 water resembling pure water. In southern regions, licorice root (*Gancao*), cimicifuga rhizome (*Shengma*), and other herbs are placed in a jar with the placenta and buried for three to five years; then the liquid is extracted and used as medicine, which is immediately effective for epidemic febrile diseases (*Tianxing Rebing*). ○ Mei Shi Fang (for treating grass gu poison, characterized by stabbing pain in the throat and near-death sensation: take one placental membrane, cut, dry in sun, powder, mix with hot water, and take one qian bi dose; most effective for snake gu, dung beetle grass poison, etc.). ○ Women's crotch cloth: Treats *Yin Yi* disease (post-febrile sexual transmission disease). Cut from above the yin area, burn to powder, and take one fang cun bi dose. Cloth from an unmarried girl is best. If a woman suffers from *Yin Yi*, a man's crotch cloth is required. *Yin Yi* disease occurs when sexual intercourse happens shortly after recovering from an epidemic disease, leading to mutual infection worse than the original illness. Symptoms include red and difficult urination, severe chills and fever. Taking this medicine promotes urination; otherwise, moxibustion on the yin area for fourteen moxa cones is needed. Also, women's crotch cloth treats retained placenta; placing it over a well mouth causes immediate expulsion. Using the mother's own cloth is best. ○ Human gallbladder: Treats ghost qi, *shizhu* (infectious consumptive disease), and fulian (lingering disease). ○ Male pubic hair: Treats snake bites. Chew twenty hairs and swallow the juice to prevent snake venom from entering the abdomen. ○ Dead person's pillow and mat: Treat warts. Rub on the wart fourteen times until it rots off. An old woman suffered from cold accumulation for years without cure; Xu Sibao diagnosed it as *shizhu* and prescribed decoction of a dead person's pillow, which cured her. The pillow was taken from an ancient tomb and was partially rotted. Zhang Jing, aged fifteen, suffered from abdominal distension and yellow complexion unresponsive to other medicines; Xu Sibao diagnosed it as stone you (parasitic worm) and prescribed dead person's pillow decoction. He expelled large you worms with hard heads like stones, weighing five or six sheng, and recovered. Shen Sengyi suffered from eye pain and hallucinations of ghosts; Xu Sibao stated evil qi had entered the liver and prescribed dead person's pillow decoction, later burying the pillow back in its original place, resulting in recovery. Wang Yan asked why three different diseases were all cured by dead person's pillows. The answer was: *Shizhu* is ghost qi lying dormant, causing stagnation; the pillow makes the soul fly away so it no longer attaches to the body, curing *shizhu*. Stone you results from improper treatment leading to hardened parasites resistant to common drugs; ghost matter is needed to disperse them, hence drinking the decoction. Evil qi entering the liver causes eye pain and seeing spirits; evil matter is needed to hook out the pathogen, hence using the qi of the dead person's pillow and burying it in the grave. ○ Belt: Treats difficult labor. At delivery, take five cun, burn to powder, and take with wine. A waist belt is best. ○ Sun Simiao said (for healing open wounds where sexual intercourse causes continuous bleeding: take two cun of the wife's worn belt, burn to powder, take with water). ○ Old cotton padding from clothes: Treats sudden lower bleeding and uncontrollable bleeding from shock-induced sores. Take a handful, decoct in water, and take warm. One liang of new cotton burned to black powder and taken with wine treats five types of "wild chicken" diseases (vaginal discharge/leukorrhea). ○ Feces in the umbilicus of a newborn (meconium): Treats malignant sores, intestinal polyps, and removes facial marks. Collect from the fetus while still in the womb at birth. ○ Umbilical cord of the newborn: Treats malaria. Burn to ash and take with water.
