Shizhong Huangzi (Yellow Mud from Stone): Long-term consumption lightens the body, prolongs life, and prevents aging (Recorded by Famous Physicians). 【Origin】(According to *Tujing Bencao*): The *Benjing* does not record the specific provinces or regions of origin, only stating it is found where Yuyuliang (Hematite) occurs. Currently, it is only produced in the valleys of Zhongtiao Mountain, Hezhong Prefecture. Old theories state this is the yellow turbid water within the shell of Yuyuliang that has not yet formed into Yuyuliang; current descriptions state that this stone resembles a dough cake, with a purple-black outer skin and a yellow interior, termed "Zhonghuang" (Middle Yellow). Based on these two accounts, there are slight differences. Current research based on *Baopuzi* states that the yellow water within stone fragments is available everywhere, especially abundant in mountains near water, within large rocks. These stones are often moist and not dry. When striking the stone, one may see dozens of layers; the color inside is reddish-yellow and fluid, resembling an egg within its shell. Upon obtaining it, one should drink it immediately; otherwise, it will harden like stone and become unfit for consumption. Breaking open a single stone yields more than one sheng (a unit of volume) or as few as several he (a smaller unit of volume). The method of use requires drinking it while it is not yet hardened. If it has already hardened, it can also be ground into powder and taken. If so, the old theory refers to taking it upon initial breaking, whereas what is currently used is that which has hardened after a long period. Tao Hongjing stated that Shizhong Huangzi appears in *Zhipin*, which is incorrect. (According to *Yanyi*): The character "Zi" (Son/Seed) in Shizhong Huangzi is an error; "Zi" should be read as "Shui" (Water). Moreover, the text itself describes it as the yellow turbid water of unformed Yuyuliang; how could it be named "Zi"? Even if referring to it being un-dried, it still cannot be called "Zi". The character "Zi" is undoubtedly a miswriting of "Shui". 【Harvest Time】Grows at any time; harvested at any time. 【Medicinal Part】Yellow turbid water from the stone. 【Color】Yellow. 【Taste】Sweet. 【Nature】Mild and balanced. 【Qi Property】Thin Qi, Yin within Yang. 【Odor】Rotten/Old odor. 【Processing】Ground into fine powder for use.
Wumingyi: Non-toxic. Mainly treats traumatic injuries from metal weapons, fractures, internal damage, relieves pain, and promotes muscle regeneration (Recorded by Famous Physicians). 【Origin】(According to *Tujing Bencao*): Originates from Da Shi Country (Arabia/Persia region), grows on stones, resembling black coal. Foreigners refine it with oil until it resembles stone, chewing it like maltose syrup. Currently, it is also found in the mountain rocks of Guangzhou and in Longji Mountain, eight li south of Yizhou. Its color is black-brown, with large pieces resembling bullet shots. 【Color】Black-brown. 【Taste】Sweet. 【Nature】Mild and balanced. 【Qi Property】Thin Qi, Yin within Yang. 【Odor】Rotten/Old odor. 【Main Efficacy】Reconnects bones and regenerates flesh. 【Treatment】(Therapy) (According to *Tujing Bencao*): Reduces swelling and detoxifies carbuncles and warts.
