The "Jue on Non-Toxic Drugs" states: "Drugs that appear non-toxic may actually be toxic; those born in water and stone possess unique properties."
Shi Can (Stone Silkworm): Indicated for Jin Chuang (traumatic injuries caused by metal weapons) to stop bleeding, promote tissue regeneration, break up Shi Lin (urinary calculi), and resolve blood stasis. When applied externally via friction and ingested, it facilitates the expulsion of stones. (Recorded by Famous Physicians) [Origin] ("Tujing Bencao" records) Grows beside rocks on coastal areas. Shape resembles a silkworm, but is actually a stone. [Harvest Time] Available at any time. [Texture] Resembles Jiang Can (Silkworm treated with frost). [Color] Bluish-white. [Taste] Bitter. [Nature] Hot. [Qi Aroma] The Qi aroma is stronger than the taste. Attribute: Yin within Yang. [Odor] Rotten odor. [Indications] Shi Lin, Jin Chuang. [Processing] Grind into fine powder or use as a paste.
Shi Nao You (Camphor Oil / Stone Brain Oil): Indicated for Xiao Er Jing Feng (pediatric convulsions), resolves phlegm, can be combined with various herbs to make pills. Daoists often use this drug; folk prescriptions also use it, though it is not strictly necessary. (Recorded by Famous Physicians, "Yanyi" records) Genuine Shi Nao You is difficult to collect and tends to permeate and corrode vessels. It is rarely used in medicine today. Roasting and refining may require specific equipment. Usually stored in You Qi (oil containers). Additionally, mix raw Pi Shuang (Arsenic Trioxide) with Shi Nao You, grind until paste-like, place in a crucible, cover with clean tile pieces, heat over fire until the crucible turns red, liquid drains, and oil emerges. Grind again, add oil, and reheat. Repeat this process twice to fix the toxicity of Pi Shuang. [Harvest Time] Available at any time. [Storage] Store tightly sealed in porcelain vessels; avoid contact with gold and silver utensils, as it may permeate even if sealed very well. [Color] Black. [Indications] Expel wind, transform phlegm.
Bai Ci Wa Xie (White Porcelain Tile Fragments): Indicated for Fu Ren Dai Xia (leukorrhea) and Bai Beng (profuse white vaginal discharge), stops vomiting, breaks blood stasis, stops bleeding. Apply water-paste to sores to eliminate scars. (Recorded by Famous Physicians) [Origin] ("Tujing Bencao" records) Dingshou porcelain is the best; others are inferior. [Color] White. [Nature] Neutral. [Qi Aroma] Qi is thin; Attribute: Yin within Yang. [Odor] Rotten odor. [Processing] Pound into powder or use as a water-paste. [Treatment] ("Benlu" records) Pound into fine powder, take an amount equivalent to one ear-scoop, blow into the nose to treat persistent Bi Nu (epistaxis). [Combined Treatment] Mix with Zhu Zhi (pig fat) and apply to treat sudden facial Chi Hei Dan Du (red-black erysipelas resembling scabies); if not treated urgently, it spreads over the body and causes death. For Bai Dan (white erysipelas), this method is effective.
Wu Gu Wa (Black Ancient Tiles): Boil in water and drink the decoction to stop Xiao Ke (wasting-thirst syndrome). (Recorded by Famous Physicians) [Origin] ("Tujing Bencao" records) Available everywhere; tiles from old houses are preferred. [Color] Black. [Nature] Cold. [Qi Aroma] Qi is thin; Attribute: Yin within Yang. [Odor] Rotten odor. [Processing] Decoct in water or soak to extract juice. [Treatment] ("Yaoxing Lun" records) Decoction resolves severe internal heat. ("Rihua Zi" records) Decoction stops frequent urination. ("Chen Cangqi" records) For burns and scalds, take deep-bottomed, ancient, and moist triangular tiles. To treat toothache, order dictates that three boys with different surnames, when stars first appear, point to the first star under the fire, and moxa on the triangular tile.
