Generally speaking, marine algae are damaging to the human body and should not be consumed in large quantities.

Bitter, cold, non-toxic. It is a purely Yin herb that enters the Qi level of the Liver Meridian.

Heat from pathogenic factors within the five Zang organs. Stop saliva production. Supplement fire ulcers from severe injuries. Breast masses (lactational fibroadenoma) in women. Acute pain in the uterus. Long-term consumption brightens the eyes, benefits Qi, prevents graying of hair, and prolongs life. Treat five types of hemorrhoids. Harvest on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. Crush to extract juice, store in a copper vessel, and simmer daily until it can be formed into pills the size of mouse droppings. Insert into the anus, change three times daily until cured. It can also induce abortion. Treat difficult labor due to excessive heat. Expel parasites and dispel wind. Dry in the shade and decoct for drinking. Brighten the eyes. Clear hot tears and heat in the head, brain, chest, and heart. Treat external genital sores and itching with dampness in men and women. For facilitating delivery, swallow seven grains. Treat oral and dental wind disorders. Cool the Large Intestine. Moisten Liver dryness.

Bitter, neutral, non-toxic. It is also said to have a bitter flavor, yellow color, and cool nature. It is an herb that enters the Blood level of the Yangming and Jueyin meridians.
[Indications]
Five types of hemorrhoids, heart pain, red eyes. Kill intestinal parasites. Treat skin wind-heat. Intestinal wind diarrhea with blood, and dysentery with red and white discharge. All are taken after stir-frying and grinding. Cool the Large Intestine. Stir-fry until fragrant and chew frequently to treat aphonia and throat obstruction. Also treat hematemesis, epistaxis, metrorrhagia, and leukorrhea with leakage.

Acrid, neutral, toxic. (Raw material is toxic, cooked material is non-toxic. The reason it is rarely used in ancient formulas is that it must be processed by cooking and forging into thin sheets before it can be used as medicine.)

All are administered in pill or powder form using the thin sheets.
