Accumulations. Wind-dizziness and flaccidity due to wind-stroke of the head. Strengthens yin and benefits essence. Unblocks menstruation. Calms the heart and spirit. Eliminates wind evil from the face and head. Warms the Water Organ (Kidney and Bladder). Raw use breaks blood; roasted use stops bleeding.

All kinds of wind pathogens. Stiffness and numbness of hands and feet. Paralysis and inability to move. Five Exhaustions and Seven Injuries. Solidifies bone marrow. Nourishes spirit. Opens the stomach and harmonizes blood. Strengthens teeth and brightens eyes. Moisturizes skin. Eliminates cold and heat. Removes the Three Corpses and Nine Worms. Epidemic diseases and miasma. Opens the heart orifice. Unblocks the nine orifices. Those growing on rocks are considered best.

Acrid, very warm, non-toxic. Pure yang and floating. Enters the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian and Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian.

Cold counterflow in the stomach. Cholera and abdominal pain. Belching and stomach cold are suitable indications. It can be combined with Renshen [Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma] and Fuling [Poria]. Dissipates wind evil in the stomach.

Acrid, warm, non-toxic. Yang and floating. Enters the Hand-Taiyin Lung Meridian and Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian (Note: Text says Hand-Foot Taiyin).
[Indications]
Water diarrhea due to intestinal deficiency. Colic and severe abdominal pain. Cholera. Vomiting sour fluid. Resolves alcohol toxicity. Dispels cold qi. Eliminates miasma and toxic vapors. Removes retained food. Warms the abdomen and intestines, treats vomiting, diarrhea, and dysentery. Treats dysphagia and regurgitation. Deficiency malaria and cold distension. Li Dongyuan frequently used it in spleen and stomach formulas, taking advantage of its acrid, hot, aromatic properties to awaken the spleen, warm the lungs and dissipate cold, dry dampness, and digest food. If there is latent fire in the spleen and lungs, it should strictly not be used.
