[Odor and Flavor]
Sweet, acrid, warm, slightly toxic. This is the white juice secreted from between the eyebrows of the toad (Bufo bufo gargarizans). Wrap the fissure between its eyebrows with oil-treated paper; the "su" (crystalline secretion) will exude onto the paper. Use after drying in the shade. Genuine product is light and buoyant, tastes sweet upon entry into the mouth. Its juice must not enter the human eyes, as it causes redness, swelling, and blindness. Immediately wash and apply with Arnebiae Radix et Rhizoma (Zicao, 紫草) juice to resolve it.
[Indications]
Treats brain-related gan accumulation (malnutrition syndrome) in children. Treats coldness in the waist and kidneys, assists yang qi, and treats bleeding from tooth gaps caused by worms. Draws out ding sores on the back and all kinds of malignant swellings.
[Odor and Flavor]
Sour, warm, toxic.
[Indications]
In ancient prescriptions, there were few records of consuming sulfur. The *Shennong Bencao Jing* (*Benjing*) used it only for treating ulcerative sores, attacking accumulated cold qi, and weakness in the legs. However, in recent times, it has been refined by fire and taken regularly as pills and powders. Observing its methods of refining and consumption, they lack fundamental basis, unlike mineral drugs which have established discussions and regulations. Therefore, although its effects are rapid, its harms come even faster. How can one not be vigilant? Earthly sulfur is acrid, hot, and fishy-smelling. It can only be used to treat scabies and kill parasites; it should not be ingested.
[Odor and Flavor]

It also resolves various insect toxins, tonifies the body, and prolongs life.
(Also known as Ye Zhangren. The flower, seed, stem, and leaves have the same properties.)
