The skull bone and tibia are of good quality; crush them to remove the marrow, then roast for use.
Pungent, slightly cold, non-toxic. Dispels wind and strengthens bones, calms pain and resolves pathogenic factors. Treats wind-bi with spasmodic pain, palpitations, epilepsy, wind-induced swelling of bones and joints, and pain and swelling in the feet and knees.
For all wandering pains in tendons and bones, soaking in wine and taking orally is effective. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
Scrape fresh horn powder for use.
Sweet, cold, non-toxic. Treats wind-epilepsy and palpitations, cures malevolent spirits and demonic entities. Calms sores and ulcers, resolves bone-steaming consumption fever.
For any iron embedded in flesh, scrape horn powder, mix with water, and apply as a poultice; the foreign body will emerge immediately. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For other foreign objects embedded in flesh. Same method as above. (No. 2.)
Burn for use.
Treats metal wounds (trauma caused by sharp metal instruments) and treats chancre (genital ulcer).
Wind-Dispelling Powder: Elephant skin (5 qian, roasted), Dragon bone (5 qian, calcined), Old lime putty (1 liang), Pine rosin (1 liang), Calcined alum (1 liang).
Grind all into an extremely fine powder, store in a porcelain bottle. When injury occurs, apply the powder to the wound and fan it. If the wound swells or forms a blood scab, wash with decoction of Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian). (Formula No. 1.)
Use raw material, grind for use. For pills and powders, wrap in paper, place in the bosom to warm, then pound until it shatters instantly. This refers to "Emerald dusting gold, human breath powdering rhinoceros horn."
Bitter, sour, salty, cold, non-toxic. Cools the Heart and drains the Liver, clears the Stomach and dispels wind, promotes phlegm resolution and resolves pathogens, detoxifies and stops bleeding. Stops hematemesis and hematochezia, removes jaundice, treats wind-heat epilepsy. Reduces carbuncles and suppuration, stops delirium and mania, and reduces fever.
When measles/rubella rash is dense, grind into juice, freeze, and drink. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For medication overdose, burn to ash, take orally with water. (No. 2.)

Bitter, cold, non-toxic. Cools the Heart and pacifies the Liver, brightens the eyes and kills parasites. Treats epilepsy and five types of hemorrhoids, cures malignant sores and various gan syndromes.
For ten-year chronic hemorrhoids, apply Bear bile externally; highly effective. (Verified Formula No. 1.)
For pediatric epilepsy, take orally with water, amount the size of a bean. (No. 2.)
