Luohui (Aloe Vera), Shexiang (Moschus), Zhusha (Cinnabar, separately ground and floated in water) each 1 qian; Gan Xima (Dried Toad, roasted with Gleditsia sinensis until carbonized) 1 liang; Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) 2.5 qian; Da Zaojiao (Gleditsia sinensis, skin and strings removed) 1 liang. Grind into powder, soak in decoction, mix with steamed wheat dough to make pills the size of hemp seeds. Children aged three take 20 pills per dose. Treats malnutrition: sallow complexion, emaciation, abdominal distension, hair forming tufts, rubbing nose, biting nails, pica (eating dirt), variable stool color, alternating chills and fever, dry eyes, foul breath, broken and blackened teeth, sores all over the body. Also treats women's amenorrhea due to heat accumulation with mass formation, rising upward causing obstruction and pain. Regular use promotes muscle gain, resolves jaundice, and kills malnutrition parasites. Another prescription: Luohui (Aloe Vera), Huhuanglian (Coptis chinensis), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis), Tianzhuhuang (Bambusa textilis node extract), Longdancao (Gentiana scabra), Fuling (Poria cocos) each 5 qian; Longnao (Borneol), Xionghuang (Realgar), Renshen (Panax ginseng), Shexiang (Moschus), Dahuang (Rheum palmatum) each 1 fen; Sheng Xijiao Jie (Raw Rhinoceros Horn shavings) 2 fen. Grind into powder, make honey pills the size of mung beans. Take 3 pills per dose, washed down with Mint Decoction or warm wine. Treats infantile convulsions and five types of malnutrition. Another prescription: Luohui (Aloe Vera), Gancao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) each 2.5 qian; Renshen (Panax ginseng), Niudan (Ox Bile) each 5 qian; Baiziren (Biota orientalis seed), Xixin (Asarum) each 1 liang; Lingyangjiao (Saiga Tatarica Horn, honey-fried) 2 liang. Grind into powder, make honey pills the size of mustard seeds. Take 10 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with clear tea. Treats black water cataracts: no pain or itching, vertigo, choppy pulse. Luohui Xiaogan Yin (Aloe Vera Malnutrition-Decoction). Sheng Luohui (Raw Aloe Vera), Huhuanglian (Coptis chinensis), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum), Lingyangjiao (Saiga Tatarica Horn, shaved), Sheng Zhizi (Raw Gardenia jasminoides fruit, crushed), Niubangzi (Arctii Fructus, stir-fried and crushed), Yinchaihu (Stellaria dichotoma root), Jiegeng (Platycodon grandiflorus root), Sheng Dahuang (Raw Rheum palmatum root), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix) each 5 fen; Boheye (Mentha haplocalyx leaf) 4 fen; Gancao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) 3 fen. Add 2 zhong of water and Danzhuyeqe (Lophatherum gracile herb) 1 qian. Decoct to 6 fen. Take after meals. Treats drill-tooth malnutrition. Luohui San (Aloe Vera Powder). Luohui (Aloe Vera), Qinghao (Artemisia annua), Chansu (Toad Venom), Yangtihua (Radix Salsolae Komarovii flower) each 5 qian; Baifan (Alumen) , Shexiang (Moschus), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis) each 1.2 qian; Gan Woniou (Dried Snail) 3 pieces; Goudi (Momordica charantia seed) 20 pieces; Dingxiang (Eugenia caryophyllata), Xixin (Asarum), Dansha (Cinnabar) each 2.5 qian; Mayaxiao (Saltpeter) 7.5 qian; Xiongdan (Bear Bile) 1 qian. Grind into powder. First wipe and wash away pus. Apply a small amount of powder to the sore. Treats mouth and tongue sores. For mild cases, remove Chansu (Toad Venom). Luohui (Aloe Vera). Another prescription: Luohui (Aloe Vera) 1 qian, Huangbai (Phellodendron amurense bark) 5 qian, Xinshi (Arsenolite) 5 fen. (Take 5 red dates, insert 1 fen of Xinshi into each date, roast until carbonized). Grind into powder. First rinse the mouth with water to clean the malnutrition toxin. Apply powder to hard and necrotic areas. Treats running horse malnutrition (noma). Another prescription: Luohui (Aloe Vera) 1 liang, Gancao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis) 5 qian. Grind into powder. Wash the affected area clean with water. Sprinkle powder on it. Treats various sores with oozing fluid, and sitting board sores.
