处。留头不敷。无叶用根。无根用干白菊花四两。甘草四钱。酒煮亦可。治疔毒对口发背。
一切无名红肿热毒。

White chrysanthemum is used for medicinal purposes.
Main indications: Expelling wind. Brightening the eyes. Purging the stomach and intestines. Dispelling wind-heat from the head and eyes. Benefiting complexion luster.
Chrysanthemi Pill (Ju Hua Wan): Gan Chrysanthemum (fried) 4 liang, Roushou Rong (wine-washed) 2 liang, Bajitian (heart removed), Gouqizi (pounded and baked) each 3 liang. Pulverized into powder. Honey-pilulated to the size of wutong seeds. Each dose is 3 qian. Taken before meals on an empty stomach with wine or salted water decoction. Treats chronic cold tearing (cold tears flowing constantly).
Chrysanthemi Cassiae Decoction Powder (Ju Hua Jueming San): Gan Chrysanthemum, Caojueming, Shijueming (water-boiled for one fu hour, then separately ground into fine powder), Muzei, Fangfeng, Qianghuo, Manjingzi, Zhi Gancao, Chuanxiong, Shigao (separately ground into fine powder), Huangqin each 5 qian. Pulverized into powder. Each dose is 2 qian. Boiled in 1.5 zhan of water until reduced to 0.8 zhan. Taken after meals. Treats long-standing eye diseases where the sclera appears slightly cyanotic/blackish, the cornea/pupil area appears slightly white, a red ring like a belt exists between the black and white parts, vision is unclear, the eyeball surface is uneven, luster is poor, accompanied by dry mouth, bitter tongue sensation, excessive discharge, and astringency/grittiness.
Chrysanthemi Tongsheng San: Bai Chrysanthemum 1.5 liang, Huashi 3 liang, Shigao, Huangqin, Jiegeng, Sheng Gancao, Yanxiao, Huanglian, Qianghuo each 1 liang, Fangfeng, Chuanxiong, Danggui, Shaoyao (fried), Dahuang (wine-steamed), Bohe, Lianqiao, Mahuang, Baijili, Mangxiao each 5 qian, Jingjisui, Baizhu (fried), Zhizi (fried until charred black) each 2.25 qian. Coarsely crushed. Each dose is 3 qian. Boiled in 1.5 cups of water with 3 slices of Shengjiang until reduced to 0.7 cup. Strained and taken warm after meals. Treats acute swelling due to wind-heat, ulceration and adhesion of eyelids to the eyeball, or formation of fengsu (small granular lesions on eyelid margins).
Chrysanthemi Powder (Ju Hua San): Gan Chrysanthemum, Xuanfuhua, Fangfeng, Zhike (bran-fried), Qianghuo, Manjingzi, Sheng Shigao, Zhi Gancao each 1.5 qian. Coarsely crushed. Each dose is 5 qian. Boiled in 3 zhong of water with 5 slices of Shengjiang until reduced to 1 zhong. Taken at any time. Treats wind-heat headache, vertigo/dizziness, and facial swelling.
Chrysanthemi Drink (Ju Hua Yin): Bai Chrysanthemum leaves with roots, quantity unspecified. Pounded to extract natural juice (one tea cup). Mixed with warm wine and taken. Cover with blankets to induce sweating. Apply the dregs to the affected area, avoiding the head. If no leaves are available, use roots; if no roots, use dried Bai Chrysanthemum 4 liang and Gancao 4 qian, which can also be boiled in wine. Treats dingdu (carbuncle toxin), duikou (opposite sore), fabei (back abscess), and all kinds of nameless red, swollen, hot, and toxic conditions.
Jujing Pill (Ju Qing Wan): Gan Chrysanthemum 4 liang, Gouqizi 3 liang, Rongrou Rong (wine-soaked and fried), Bajitian (heart removed) each 1 liang. Pulverized into powder. Honey-pilulated to the size of wutong seeds. Each dose is 50 pills. Taken well after meals with warm wine or salted water decoction. Treats liver and kidney deficiency, blurry vision with frequent floaters (seeing black flowers), and excessive tearing.
